I stayed one night at the Grand Bittar Hotel. There are many hotel options in Brasilia, very few of them would I call good or interesting. Brasilia just does not seem to demand that level of hotel, unlike Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro. The Grand Bittar is perfectly fine, with the rooms clearly decorated with a Brazilian sensibility. The... More

This hotel was actually exactly what I expected it to be given the late booking for the World Cup game in Brasilia. Location was great for the game, but this was about the only amenity worth the stay. The safe was not functional, the shower had two used bars of soap in them (hadn't been cleaned), the workout room and... More

Went to Brazilia for a WC game, hotel district is within walking distance to stadium so we were happy with that. Government offices, Cathedral, Museum and other are also at close proximity. Hotel needs renovation, but it worked out well. Rooms are large and clean. I overpaid because of WC. Nice breakfast.

I reserved for 11 nights using Booking.com, which clearly stated that the reservation could be cancelled (for a small penalty) if necessary. When I needed to check out early after staying only two nights I learned that the hotel had already charged my credit card for the full 11 nights. Staff promised that a refund would be processed within a... More

I've just checked out of this hotel and as a non-Portuguese speaker it isn't great. Some staff spoke good English at reception but you can't order room service, complain, or get help with the elevators if you don't speak Portuguese. I was on the 13th floor- the room was okay but outdated, the air con was pretty much non existent,... More

To be fair: it is not a bad hotel, especially considering the bad experiences I had with hotels in Brasilia in the past. But when one pays the price of a 5-stars hotel, one expects 5-stars quality. Grand Bittar would have been an excellent 3-stars hotel, but is a below-average 5-stars one. Location is not a differential in Brasilia, since... More

It was a modern hotel with excellently but simply designed furniture in the room. The coffee was the worst I have had in my entire trip to Brazil. It tasted burnt and no matter what I did to it, it would not improve. The people serving the coffee should taste it so they will find out had bad it is,... More

I just stay there in a non-carpet nice room. The room was not perfect, but it is comfortable. A problem for me was the noise from the highway just besides the hotel, but that is common in Brasilia. They give a room with a nice view for the presidential palace (distant) but very much the post card view of Brasilia.... More

This is a basic hotel in need of some refurbishment. The decor was a little scruffy and the air conditioning poor. The bathroom was of poor design, had no blind on the window and the shower was sporty to get in and out of. There was a small bar in reception and the pool at the time of my visit... More

So I spent 2 weeks in Grand Bittar whilst working in Brasilia again ( Earlier this year I was for 4 weeks in Comfort Suites). They are situated on opposite sides of the Torre de TV and cater for largely the same market as far as I can see. (Although the guests at Bittar ranged from uniformed army and air... More
