I am an older traveller and I stayed at this hostel during the soccer world cup (goooo USA!!), and I must admit, I was extremely disappointed. I booked a place in a 4 bed dorm and I was surprised to discover that it had been converted into a room packed full of DIY triple bunks - we felt like battery... More

Hostel Terra da Luz was one of our best hostelling experiences. It was our first stop in Brazil for the World Cup, and couldn't have been a better introduction to the festival of football! The rooms were crowded (as you'd expect during the World Cup), but due to the helpfulness and attitude of the owners and staff, everyone had a... More

We´d stayed couple of days in the Terra do Luz and loved it. The staff is nice and helps out with everything! Very clean bathrooms and rooms with aircon where a plus. We had a incredible time during the last wouldcup games and could enjoy the lovely discussions of the holland-German footballrelationship with with the owner Nico and his wife... More

this is my honest opinion of the place. location: from the bus terminal, it is 30min trip using a local bus and then 5 min walk to the street. It is 20min walk to the unsafe area customer service: somewhat helpful , spoke english and dutch cleanness: place was clean and tidy everyday. bathrooms: 4 to choose from. Bedroom: the... More

I don't normally write reviews on hostels, in fact most people these days only write reviews when they have a terrible experience. For the first time in my life, I want to write a review. My 3 friends and I from Sydney travelled to Fortaleza during the world cup and I have to say that our time in the hostel... More

In a very small room (about 3 x 4 square metes), they "fit' 18 people, head to head and feet t feet. The AC is no sufficient, no windows, in the "commun/longe areas" they have couples sleeping.... the worst experience,

We arrived at this place after seeing all the previous positive reviews with high hopes. After staying at many hostels all over the world, this place was comfortably the worst. First of all I should mention our stay was during the World Cup so we expected the hostel to be a little crowded and all rooms full. This would not... More

I really don't understand why this place is #1 on Tripadvisor. We arrived here after reading good reviews about this place. It was saying that there is a good English speaker worker here and that it is a good hostel. When we arrived we heard that the owner of the hostel gone for vacation for a month and we met... More

Very nice hostel, not just empty room with beds, but U can feel the hand of the Owner. The Owner - one of the nicest person I met in Brazil: she took us to samba party, showed everything on the map, told us where to go, what to eat etc. Really, really helpful and friendly! Really clean, really pleasurable. If... More

We only stayed one night. The lady working there was lovely and really helpful. We had a double room which was very small and the bed was very average - 3 mattresses stacked ontop of each other. The shared bathroom was really run down - I got an electric shock from the shower and the bench which held the basin... More
