I really enjoyed my stay here-- it felt like a nice safe hotel. The food was great especially the assortment of fresh fruits and the coconut-rice cakes that came with breakfast. TV comes in the large, spacious rooms; the decor of the hotel is colonial with a breezy tropical feel to it. The strolling you can do just outside the... More

The hotel is located on a pedestrian only part just off the main square. This is perhaps the most important part of the hotel because it's easy to get out and walk in a safe area. In this part of Salvador there's a specific area where tourists can go and some of the other hotels we considered were off the... More

The hotel is on a main square in the heritage old town part of Salvador so really well located. It has been beautifully maintained and decorated In a colonial style, with staff dressed in colonial house servant 'uniforms' ( which did seem a little odd initially). The rooms are decorated in reclaimed and vintage style colonial furniture which is well... More

We stayed in the Cochin room which has a small private roof terrace and is overall very well appointed. We felt the rooms were of a higher standard than the common areas (fairly small albeit very beautiful). The location is fantastic as it is very close to pelourinho but be aware that there are a few streets in the areas... More

This hotel is the most beautiful we've seen in Brazil. The staff speak English very well (and french too). We even got a special gift for our honeymoon! The interior are incredibly well decorated with colonial style furniture everywhere. The breakfast is very good, and the bar is definitely to try (our favorite cocktail was the Mediteranean caipirinha).

This is a very nice boutique hotel located in the best part of old town Salvador called Pelourinho. It is an old style colonial architecture and atmosphere. Service is very friendly and attentive. We hesitated to book this place or the other top rated similar hotel called Aram Yani which we noticed is in a more noisy and remote part... More

Villa Bahia is certainly very well located in the historical center of Salvador, the old house is renovated with charm with spacious rooms nicely decorated with old furnitures. However the hotel is over rated and hence overpriced- it is far from being a luxury hotel, the common area (restaurant, lounge and swiming pool) are extremely small, and the breakfast is... More

Everything is perfect. The hotel is located in a beautiful old building, the rooms are vast, beautifully furnished, and very bright thanks to large Windows. The staff is very helpful and welcoming, the bar is great, the restaurant super (as is breakfast). The hotel could hardly be located more centrally.

This has to be one of the most memorable hotel stays I have ever had in my life (to date). From the friendly staff to the immaculate well-kep colonial style mansion. This is the place to stay in Salvador - Pelourinho. Each room is carefully decorated to reflect a particular period of Bahia's interesting history. I had the pleasure to... More
