It's a bit edgy around here, not good at night in the side roads , vagrants sleeping nearby , plenty of dogs as well. Equally the police station is next door and lots of police visible. However it is a pleasant hotel, decent front desk staff especially theBelgian girl, and all the staff try hard but don't always get it... More

Staff friendly enough buy not trained. Had to chase them for coffee, bread etc at breakfast each of three days of our stay - they always forgot something. Breakfast nothing special. There is no swimming pool, a small plunge pool at best. Didn't eat here apart from breakfast as many local good restaurants with more atmosphere and cheaper. Great position,... More

This is a first class hotel with charming staff and first rate service. It is atmospheric, helpful and immaculately clean. Breakfast was excellent and served in charming surroundings in the back garden of the hotel. We were given a welcome drink and the welcome in the hotel when we arrived was faultless. Our room was large and well appointed. I... More

The rooms may be charming, but staff attitude second rate. It may be 'in the heart of the historic centre' but its pool is a fragment of someone's imagination, and nobody takes responsibility when things go wrong with service - e.g. no coffee available after 20 minutes waiting. Not cheap either.

The perfection in Salvador. Charming house, exquisitelly furnished. Beautiful room with terrace and stunning view over the city. Nice restaurant. And the most important is a fantastic service delivered at the reception by Eloise

I really enjoyed my stay here-- it felt like a nice safe hotel. The food was great especially the assortment of fresh fruits and the coconut-rice cakes that came with breakfast. TV comes in the large, spacious rooms; the decor of the hotel is colonial with a breezy tropical feel to it. The strolling you can do just outside the... More

The hotel is located on a pedestrian only part just off the main square. This is perhaps the most important part of the hotel because it's easy to get out and walk in a safe area. In this part of Salvador there's a specific area where tourists can go and some of the other hotels we considered were off the... More

The hotel is on a main square in the heritage old town part of Salvador so really well located. It has been beautifully maintained and decorated In a colonial style, with staff dressed in colonial house servant 'uniforms' ( which did seem a little odd initially). The rooms are decorated in reclaimed and vintage style colonial furniture which is well... More

We stayed in the Cochin room which has a small private roof terrace and is overall very well appointed. We felt the rooms were of a higher standard than the common areas (fairly small albeit very beautiful). The location is fantastic as it is very close to pelourinho but be aware that there are a few streets in the areas... More

This hotel is the most beautiful we've seen in Brazil. The staff speak English very well (and french too). We even got a special gift for our honeymoon! The interior are incredibly well decorated with colonial style furniture everywhere. The breakfast is very good, and the bar is definitely to try (our favorite cocktail was the Mediteranean caipirinha).
