Location and rooms are wonderful. The decorations are very classy chic and the entire hotel has the feeling of a really tastefully furnished merchants house. The food is excellent with all the main restaurants in town a short stroll in a relaxed safe environment. Main tourists sites are close by and all walking distance. Perfect before heading south to Barra... More

This is the perfect boutique hotel. located on a traffic-free square. I only saw one of its 17 rooms (Goa) but it was perfectly appointed. Overlooking the square, some may say it can be noisy with the sounds of street life below, but to me all that music is a vital part of the vibrancy of the city and it... More

The central historic district of Salvador, Pelourinho, can be busy, hot, crowded and noisy: full of tourists, and the ecosystem of vendors and hawkers that go along with that. This hotel was smack in the middle of all that but as son as you step in the front door the slightly cooler temperatures naturally created by old thick masonry walls,... More

As I entered the gates of this little boutique hotel I was transported to a place and time long gone. It brought back memories of my childhood from my grandparents house in the village. It is restored colonial house and everything about it ooze charm and character. It is ideally placed at the heart of the historic centre and from... More

Villa Bahia is designed with great attention to detail. Everything is consistent and in perfect harmony. Even the elevator is made to look as if it was from colonial times. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and the beds are extremely comfortable – soft with a choice of cushions. The location in the heart of Pelourinho is perfect to explore... More

Villa Bahia is a beautiful hotel, carefully restored and with wonderful furnishings in each room. It's location right in the center of the historic district is an added plus. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was very good, as were the meals offered in their restaurant. Service during breakfast could have been a little more attentive or had coffee more... Excellent 2 night stay at Villa Bahia. Fantastic location in the Centro Historico within walking distance of many local sites. The hotel has loads of history and style. We stayed in 2 different rooms: "Madagascar" with a four poster bed, antique bathtub and view of the street and "Ceilao" which featured a rooftop terrace. Both rooms reflected the colonial style... If you want to stay in the Pelourinho - the historic heart of Salvador - this is the place to be. An old colonial building beautifully converted into a boutique hotel. The ground floor houses the reception and the bar area and restaurant. They have some tables outside in the front with views of a spectacular church and the old... More

Villa Bahia was our first stop in Brazil. Flying in after a long flight we were exhausted and really weren't sure what to expect in terms of the location, service etc. Let's just say, I gave out a sigh of relief :) The location, fabulous!!!Have a glass of wine post dinner with the breathtaking view of the church right in... We stayed for two nights in Timor. Gorgeous rustic decoration throughout hotel. Brilliant location right by the beautiful St Francis church. Breakfast was plentiful albeit not what I'd necessarily choose - loved the fruit though. Tables and chairs outside with parasols so you can sit and watch the world go by. We had dinner one evening both had the filet... More
