This cozy little hotel is an oasis in brazilian hospitality industry. Very clean, very beautiful. The whole property is all about details, from the decoration, full of regional handicraft, to the service itself, everything was very good. Breakfast was delicious, and the restaurant was also very good. The location is also superb, close to the main attractions and points of... More

We read all the rules of the hotel upon arrival. We had invited another couple to come visit us for lunch during our stay here. Now when we wanted to take them up to show them how lucky we were to be renting this apartment in the center of the action of Carnaval, the Authoritarian of the hotel came over... More

Perfect location to explore the old town, wonderful ambience, lovely historical building(s), clean and spacious room, and the best of all - the reception staff, who were amazingly friendly and helpful. If we're ever in Salvador again, there is no doubt where we'll be staying.

The location in Salvador is the best possible, and the hotel itself is a beauty. The visual appearances of hotels all over the world are mostly kitsch, but Villa Bahia has taste. It is nice to have your breakfast in a small garden, and there is a roof-top terrace that you can probably have all to yourself (it is a... More

Charming, rustic, and primitive. After the second night of a 3 night stay we couldn't wait to leave. If you're looking for a good night's sleep, the constant drumming and music in the immediate area makes it impossible. The miniscule plunge pool gets no sun. Restaurant service is indifferent at best. The need for heavy armed military police just outside... More

Great location in the middle of the historical old town which is the only place worth being in Salvador for really. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly and spoke good English. The rooms are absolutely charming and although my room faces the main square it was not noisy at all. Ok one night there were stray dogs barking but what... More

We stayed there on december 13th and it was disapointing to see how such a beautiful and well decorated hotel with such a great location can fail in some main aspects: we stayed in room "Goa" (one of the most expensive rooms) and the rumour of the air-condicioning was terrible. We tried to minimise it by closing the bathroom's windows... More

We were three adults who spent only two nights there. The staff were very nice and spoke English and French. The rooms (cabo verde and another) were clean with rustic decoration. Good WiFi. Breakfast (not buffet) was plenty and delicious. The location is perfect as it is in the heart of the old city and a short walk and elevator... More

We were looked after well. The room was beautiful as are the reception and bar areas. The restaurant is lovely with a little 'garden' at the back. We especially enjoyed breakfast but each meal was good. The location in the upper city is great with places to visit. The many 'tourist police' give you a 'safe' feeling. It is also... More

Last week I stayed, for the second time, at Villa Bahia in Salvador. I had two colleagues with me as we were attending a seminar. Just as I remembered it, the Villa was great. The rooms each had their own special characteristics and charms. The entire experience was excellent from the accommodation, the staff (Marie and Pilar are GEMS!), the... More
