Hotel: Extremely noisy, owners children sleeping in the lobby, running and screaming around the hotel at insane hours. With the lack of soundproofing, you can hear everything that is happening on the ground floor from the cleaning staff to the kitchen prepping breakfast. Rooms: Dirty + no sheets Restaurant: Waited 1h30min for our food even though we were the only... More

This hotel is the dirtiest hotel I have ever been in. Sheets, towels - everything was dirty. No air conditioning and supposedly no one speaks English. When things were stolen from our friends room and we called the police, all of a sudden the Manager started to understand English. The Manager lives in the hotel and our friends shoes were... More

We booked this hotel as it is located in the Historic area of Salvador which to any one visiting Salvador is a must see. The hotel is small but has a great terrace over looking the port and Bay which is a lovely place for supper. The food is pretty much cooked to order and subject to what they have... More

Tranquility is the one word that comes to mind when I think of this wonderful hotel, where I spent a week. The design and decors are beautiful, created by the German owner himself, a former student of architecture. The rooms are large and comfortable with high ceilings, and due to the open-to-the-winds layout of the building, the fans are all... More

The room's decoration is nice, but there's no air conditioning. (Only one suite has it). It's almost impossible to sleep in the heat of Salvador without it. Apparently the only people who speak english are the owners. A Brazilian woman and a guy who apparently speaks german as his first language. They are not there all the time and the... More

Having been already a guest four years ago when I was living in Sao Paulo I came back to Salvador. I spent a few days in the nice Villa Santo Antonio Hotel in Salvador because Camacari is always lacking a good quality pousada. Good news: the highlight is the restaurant ! Under the new management the restaurant is now open... More

1. Hotel lied about facilities -- no air con, no easy parking, no English-speaking staff -- actually, staff ONLY spoke Portuguese (among us, we spoke English, Spanish, French, German, and other languages, but nada from the hotel). The security guard also asked for a huge "tip" to watch our car overnight. Note that language ability was important here: we didn't... More
