When we decided to go to Brazil, we were aware that the whole country might be a little more dangerous than other countries. Our approach was: no jewelery, no watches, trashy clothes, homeless look. It worked very well. Salvador is one of the most dangerous touristic places in Brazil and Pelourinho where the hotel is located as well. So expect... More

We stayed two nights at this excellent hotel and were very impressed. The hotel is nicely located in a quiet street right in the middle of the old city. We had room 7 which is quite large and has a private balcony that looks out to sea. This room has the widest bed we've ever come across, perhaps 8 feet... More

We arrived at this hotel late at night and when we pulled up outside (after our driver had to get permission from the local police to drive down the road) we thought it looked like a shady little hotel and not to our taste at all. My husband and I were pulling faces all during the check in process and... More

We arrived in the early hours of the morning tired and weary. Check in was swift and a spacious welcoming room was waiting. Breakfast was more than we could tackle but very good. Staff friendly. Loved the pool bar at lunchtime and the roof terrace for evening drinks overlooking the harbour ( and the less than attractive industrial lower city)location... More

After 10 days in Brazil we canniot stand anymore local food cooked with palm oil and coconut, it is heavy and we can't digest it., By chance we found this hotel, chatted with the French Manager and found out that they offer fusion food in their restaurant. We enjoyed our dinner very much. It was lighter and tastier than local... More

stayed here over the Christmas holiday, what I liked about this place the most was the location, you are in the midst of this vibrant and energetic city, it is a short stroll to everything and right in the center of pelourinho, the hotel was very efficient I called really last minute to change my flight schedule with the car... The hotel is in the center of the old city, we couldn't have asked for a better location! The hotel is just beautiful and the rooms are very spacious. The only down size was the check in process which took about 30 minutes and the man told us we were being upgraded which was a lie because our room was... More

Casa do Amarelindo is a lovely small hotel located on a pedestrian street just a block or so from the central square of the Pelourinho, the old historic quarter of Salvador. We had a luxury room, which included a huge and wonderfully comfortable bed (bigger than a king size, four people could sleep in it), a well-appointed bath with jacuzzi... More

This is a beautifully appointed hotel in a wonderful location in the heart of the Pelourinho district of the city. We were fortunate enough to stay in lovely room 8 which has a fantastic view of the bay to the rear of the hotel. It also has the largest bed we have ever seen and a sumptuous jacuzzi bath, which...
