Casa do Amarelindo is a lovely small hotel located on a pedestrian street just a block or so from the central square of the Pelourinho, the old historic quarter of Salvador. We had a luxury room, which included a huge and wonderfully comfortable bed (bigger than a king size, four people could sleep in it), a well-appointed bath with jacuzzi... More

This is a beautifully appointed hotel in a wonderful location in the heart of the Pelourinho district of the city. We were fortunate enough to stay in lovely room 8 which has a fantastic view of the bay to the rear of the hotel. It also has the largest bed we have ever seen and a sumptuous jacuzzi bath, which... This boutique hotel in the heart of historic old town in Salvador is a gem. It has all modern amenities, including free internet, with the charm of a remodeled old Pelourinho house. The service is just outstanding! The owners are constantly attentive to your every need.

This hotel is in an excellent location for exploring the historic city of Salvador. I was a little concerned it would be noisy based on other reviews I had read, but even though I had a standard room facing the street, I slept well and never heard a sound all night; the thick walls and double glazing clearly did the... Spent three nights in this boutique hotel as part of a tour of Brazil. Excellent location just a few meters from the centre of the old town, Pelourinho, so easy walking to all the main historic sites. The hotel was basically re-built in 2005-7 to a very high specification. We had a standard room, the basic, but large, with huge... More

The staff at reception was friendly and helpful when we come at Hotel. The room was clean, confortable and big enough. We apreciated the breakfast served 15 min early because we have to go to airport early. We had a diner at the bistro and the service wasn`t so professional and we didn`t like the dish served.

We stayed 5 nights at this gem of a hotel. My husband was speaking at a conference in Salvador so we decided to make it into an anniversary trip and it was so much more than I expected. He was staying at the Sheraton when I arrived and I made him change hotels so that we could be in the... More

Stayed 2 nights to have one full day touring the old town. Hotel is ideally located in centre of the old town but can be difficult to access by car/ taxi as road often blocked off but our guide talked police into allowing us in as we had cases. Very welcoming when we arrived . Hotel is a cross between... More

We stayed for 3 nights in July and were delighted with our choice. Spotlessly clean room with a large comfortable bed and excellent shower. The hotel is situated in a great location for exploring the old town on foot and there are great restaurants nearby too. However, the food in the hotel is also very good. Breakfast was served at... Some hotels just nail that elusive "sense of place" that reflects the soul of their locale, unlike cookie cutter hotels that could be located anywhere in the world. Casa do Amarelindo is one of those rare treasures. It perfectly captures the essence of Bahia while still offering all modern comforts. The décor is gorgeous and full of native art and... More
