This is a fabulous small hotel. I've stayed here several times and always come back here when I'm in Bahia. Staying at Amarelindo plays a big part in making my visits to Salvador memorable. Rooms are excellent, service superb, food superior. The owners are in residence and monitor every detail. The hotel's French-inflected variation on the Brazilian breakfast makes it... More

We are obviously going to be in a minority here, as this hotel gets many positive reviews. But our experience was not as positive, largely because of the location (more on that below). The building is nicely restored, and the superior rooms are an adequate size. Our rooms, with a view of the harbor, were shielded from the noisy street.... More

So hard to put into words the perfection of this beautiful boutique hotel. From the decoration, furniture, facilities, location, to the absolutely amazing breakfast we cannot fault this place. Well situated in the heart of the old part of Salvador, we loved exploring the town with our wonderful guide Carlos! All staff at the hotel were so friendly, and could... More

Our 4 day stay got off to a great start, with the hotel organising airport transfers. The hotel and rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. The location couldn't be better either, with something going on in the locale each night. And the hotel makes it all easier by listing interesting events daily. Above all, the real stars are the... My partner Sean and I loved staying at Casa do Amarelindo during the World Cup. We stayed for three weeks, the duration of the World Cup games in Salvador. I was nervous booking an unknown hotel for a three week stay, because I wanted it to be fantastic. I was not not disappointed. For me, this was the perfect place... More

Traveling in Brazil for a month during the FIFA world cup can get pricey, but we decided to splurge and spend a night here, and we were so happy we did. This is a beautiful boutique hotel in Pelourinho. After staying in many pousadas, it was a delight to arrive at Hotel Casa do Amarelindo. The co-owner personally greeted us... More

It is a small hotel with a very nice atmosphere. The staff is friendly and qualified. The rooms are good, with enormous beds. We had diner there which was good. Breakfast is good but you eat what they put on your table. You can have a drink in the small lounge, which has a view of the busy street in... More

We stayed here for 5 nights during the World Cup and it was utterly delightful. Our standard room (their words!) was of a generous size along with a good size bathroom but it is the quality of the furnishings, the stylish decor and thoughtful touches that really makes the room so comfortable, along with things like the terrific rainfall shower.... Amerlindo was everything we hoped it would be. The location was great as you could walk everywhere around the little town of Salvador. It was charming, the service was excellent and the food was delicious. The breakfast that is included in the morning far exceeded our expectations for quantity and quality including ham, cheese, eggs, fruit plate, yogurt, 2 freshly... More

If you visit Salvador, the old Portuguese colonial capital of Brazil, you should stay here. Beautifully renovated by the owners Gilles and Didier, the hotel opens on to the cobbled streets of the old city and is within easy walking distance of some of the most magnificent historic buildings in the whole of Brazil. The décor throughout is stylish and... More
