This was our second stay at Pousada Colonial. We has a good first experience but we were bitterly disappointed this time. When arriving we realised the family room street side we got would be very noisy at night, but we were denied a change to a room on the first floor because it had not been prepared. It was only... The staff were all extremely friendly, helpful and spoke good English. The Pousada was very clean and the breakfast was excellent, fresh fruit, juice, cakes, bread and eggs cooked to order. The wifi was also very good. There is a sitting room with a veranda on the first floor, with a TV, magazines and a book swap. We had chosen... More

Utterly charming little hotel in the historic Pelourinho district of Salvador. An easy walk to all the main attractions, lovingly decorated and well-restored old building with wooden floors and tasteful furniture. The staff were friendly and the included breakfast was OK - toast, juice, coffee, ham, cheese, an egg fried to order and a selection of pastries. Free wifi too.... More

Posada Colonial is a very charming small hotel in the "Pelourinho" the first neighborhood established in Salvador Bahia. The hotel was a colonial house turned into a colorful hotel. The room was nice and clean, and the bed quite comfortable. The three propale at the front desk we met were very efficient and friendly, always giving us a big smile... More

The welcome in this guest house/pousada is second to none. The staff made sure we knew where everything was both in the accommodation and in Salvador itself. They recommended places to go and restaurants etc. This wasn't a normal check in of here's the key and get on with it! As we were at the end of our 3 week... More

We stayed here two nights during the World Cup, the place is beautiful, high ceilings, simple decorations, close to all you want to see in the historical part of town. We stayed in the ground floor room with a street view which lacks a bit of privacy but the very large windows are nice and much better than rooms with... More

We spent a night here during the World Cup. It is a beautiful guest house, it epitomises the old part of Salvador. The staff were very nice and gave us a free upgrade. The breakfast was very good too.

We stayed in this place for one night ( of a three night nonrefundable) reservation during the World Cup. This is located in the old part of town. However, there is NO reason to stay in the old part of town. It's good for sight seeing but you can taxi in and out for a day trip without any problems.... More

My son and I returned from a week in Salvador for the World Cup. Pousada Colonial was our home base for the week. The driver Colonial arranged promptly met us at the airport, and not only was friendly but gave us an enthusiastic guided tour into the city in a mix of Portuguese, Spanish, and some French. Our room on... More
