Seeing as we booked this hotel well in advance we appear to have got it for a very good price, as on arrival the prices were very inflated for the World Cup. That said, the staff were for the most part very helpful, breakfast was as good as anywhere else we stayed at in Brazil and the room was spotless... More

This is really a 2 star hotel at best. The check in was baffling as nobody spoke English. The breakfast was green scrambled eggs and chirizo and fruit. It is located near a supermarket, but not really walking distance to anywhere. The room we stayed was not renovated, so straight out of the 1960's. There are renovated rooms, so try... More

We stayed here during the World Cup on 2 occasions. Pros: Nice safe hotel Lady on reception spoke excellent English and was able to arrange a car to meet us at the nextr airport/hotel in Belo Horizonte (this turned out to be of major benefit) Breakfast quite good. There's also a nice Italian restaurant on the corner if you turn... More

With a group of friends we stayed there during the World Cup. I won't let the price we payed affect my review, as all prices were inflated during the WC. The hotel is in a good safe location. Halfway between the old town and beachfront area. A taxi to either costs about $4 US. The hotel itself is basic and... More

On booking and indeed on checking in no warnings were given that the hotel was under rennovation and that theses works affected the guest. On stepping out of the elevator it was obvious, there was sheeting over the stairwell and building dust all over the floor, which had to be trodden in to go to the room. Breakfast as always... More

The hotel is very cheap but nothing else. The room's air conditioner was very loud and you could not keep it on overnight. The breakfast was not so good but satisfactory. They do not have a map of the city , they are not able to suggest a good beach or some restaurant or something regarding the night life. We... More

I stayed at 2 hotels in Salvador during this trip (another across the street), and this one was much better. The staff was extremely friendly and professional. The building is much more modern than others nearby and the room much more clean and comfortable. The beds are not very comfortable, but given all the other benefits of staying here (price,... More

Bahia do Sol is a very nice hotel, in a central location, close to campo grande, clean, tidy, with a GREAT staff! Breakfast is wonderful and so is the serving personnel!! Many dishes, types of bread, cakes, cereals, juices, a great variety of food. I really loved the place. The rooms were spacious, neat, excellent internet connection, also good food... More

I stayed there for only one night. The room is large and confortable but with old furniture. The breakfast was great. The staff is very helpfull To go around Salvador is necessary to get a cab. Good location in classy neighborhood on ocean street. No beach but nice views. Don't accept any room not facing the ocean. This place has some small, depressing, dark rooms in the back. But rooms facing ocean (or just facing street) are more cheery. This is a SIMPLE place. Only fair on cleanliness, but US $80 per night for free parking... More
