This was the second time I stayed here during a conference - even though the hotel was far off the conference site, it was well worth the extra trip in the evening. The quarter is charming, very close to the sea, the hotel is cool, quiet, and the breakfast is simply excellent! The rooms are relatively small, but nicely furnished,... More

My husband and I stayed in this lovely old hotel for 4 nights a couple of months ago in November. The room was small but very charming, and we loved the two-story aspect of it--kitchen, mini-bar, and living room downstairs..bathroom and bedroom upstairs. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate, and we loved the Portuguese tiles and colonial furnishings. Unfortunately,... More

Staff - pleasant and efficient however not so knowlegable or helpful with things to do and advice on the neighborhood. Rooms - dated and basic. Airconditioning does not work properly as Is old and needs to be replaced. Facility - no pool or relaxation facilities but in a beautiful building. F&B - very basic but interestingn breakfast spread. This a very nice, calm hotel. We were lucky, had a room with sea view (there are only some). There is a beautiful yard with plants, etc. where you can read. a garden surounds the place. The breakfast is a miracle, so many choices! Very good time!

The building the hotel is in itself is lovely. The location is not great, there are some restaurants and nightclubs, but it's far away from downtown Salvador and the nice beaches, maybe a 10 - 15 minute cab ride (well, it felt far away). Wifi was extremely spotty. I couldn't get it to work in the room except sometimes in... More

We stayed for three nights and really enjoyed it here (following two dull nights in Barra). Lovely hotel. Decorated in a very cool/interesting manner (check out the pictures). The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and immaculately cleaned/serviced. And the breakfast was nice. All in all it had a very relaxed atmosphere - helped by our room... More

I booked my stay here last September for a few nights during the World Cup. It was amazing to stay at. Right by the main square of Rio Vermelho, everything I needed was within a walk and it was a short cab ride to Barra for the Fan Fest and to the stadium for the matches. The staff didn't speak... We arrived at 3 am to music and people down the street. Turn left or right to go to a town square for friendly locals and tourists out for fun, food, and conversation. The hotel is a bit rustic, but we chose it for its' character. Loved it. The staff was extremely helpful. Breakfast was good with enough variety for... More

I booked a apartment room. The room was on two floors, very dark (just a small window) and stale smelly. The badroom was very small. Far too small for this room class. We asked for another room after the first uncomfortable night. Of course only smaller rooms (lower class) were available. The new room was little more comfortable and had... More

We were surprised with this comment, so we would like to explain some facts: First about the room , this is one of our three duplex rooms, situated in the old restored house, because of that, we could not change the size of the windows, all the other rooms were build in a new structure, with large windows. About the... More

Stayed here for 4 weeks - the staff is very friendly and courteous - the ladies who run the kitchen are great! The breakfast buffet is very good with a huge selection of cakes, pastries, fruits, juices etc. The location is good - enough bars/restaurants around the area for every possible budget. Security is very good - never felt unsafe.... More
