The hotel location is awesome, from the other side, about the staff; - Jorge, took an agreement about the room fare, then has been changed by his colleague. Unfare. There's no hot water, but thanks to the weather is not a so big issue. There is no WIFI.

This hotel has character and is really at the heart of the historic area of Pelourinho. It is a marvellous place to base yourself while exploring Pelourinho- easily the most interesting part of Salvador. You can find plenty of hotels which are smarter and "chic" (whatever that word really means) but they will not give you the experience of Pelourinho... More

We stayed here during Carnival, which meant that the rates were slightly more than double what they would have been otherwise. This is an odd establishment. The building is historically important, not the least because Jorge Amado wrote his first book ("Sweat") here. The entrance (there is no lobby in the conventional hotel sense) was once probably quite attractive, but... More

The lady, who has inherited the Hotel P., is not a marketing-professional. She doesn't get easy money for restauration, which is not supported, - as in Germany -, by the government. Her "Hotel P." was the student's hostel of the first university of Salvador in ancient times and has a long history. You should know this in the context of... More

To discover Salvador the hotel Pelourinho was very good for us, near to all interesting places in Pelourinho. We spent here 6 nights. We enjoyed it very much, also the breakfast, The Staff was friendly and helpful. It was very safe and we could enjoy the evenings outside.

I stayed here for four nights & it cost me me about $55 per night. I had a large room with a high ceiling and a small living area. In short, it was almost like a suite with a partial view of the bay. I had asked for a quiet room and I got one but there's always live music... More
