Very nice rustic atmosphere in the rooms and the lobby, the hotel itself is beautiful and the reception staff were friendly. It was set in the historic old town of salvador. Sadly the visit was ruined by a theft from the hotel safe - I know for a fact that 150USD was stolen as the count was short when I... More

The pousada is located in a beautiful building in a very nice neighbourhood just above the pelourinho. However, the nice location and the arty atmosphere was spoiled by quite incompetent staff. Check-in and check-out were cumbersome and lengthy, we didn't get our room cleaned after the first night, nor the trash bin emptied (which one might argue is quite important... More

I visited the hotel during the World Cup and was very pleased with the choice. The pousada has a relaxed vibe and was a nice place to hang out, with a large comfortable lounge with terrace. The breakfast was good and the staff were excellent. Free wifi. The owner was friendly. The location is excellent, near the old town. Good... More

The pousada is ideally located in a charming and colourful street just 5 min walk from the overcrowded pelourhino but not in the pelorino which makes all the difference! The place is very well decorated, the staff is friendly and helpful and the breakfast is AMAZING!!

Pousada des Artes is a nice Pousada in the historical city center of Salvador. The staff there is very friedndly and helpful - but unfortunately most of the people there speak no English. So - without Portugues I won't go there. The breakfast is middle-class. The pousada itself is very unique and wonderfully decorated. The cleanliness is OK but can... More

We spent our final night of our 2 week honeymoon here and although the building and the rooms are absolutely gorgeous, I thought it was a little overpriced for what it was. It's also a little far out from the main historic centre, so we felt a bit nervous walking home in the dark. But apart from that, it's a... More

It is a lie, Nobody roobed you in your room. There are cameras to prove it, the only key stayed with you. On the way in you booked an airport transportation with us, with fixed price and refused to pay it when you arrive.... You said you spent nothing in Salvador and told me you went to the Bambara club,... More

Love it, love it, love it.  You have to make this your base for Salvador.... Stunning place, really nicely decorated with every detail thought about. Super friendly staff full of lots of tips and hints about the town.  It is the love and attention they put into everything which shines through -  arranged a super friendly collection from the airport,... Nice comfortable place with welcoming staff. Comprehensive breakfast. Great views of the coast and shipping that comes and goes. It's worth it just for these views. I re-confirmed our airport pick-up transfer a couple of days before arrival but still waited 45 min in the airport arrivals area for the guy to turn up - the nice ladies at tourist... More

As many have said, the location, decor and charm of this pousada can't be beat in Pelhourino. It is located in the centre of the action, but enough off that path that you don't have Olodum banging away right in front of your window. The rooms are rustic and colourful and if you appreciate naif art, then you will find... More

We enjoyed very much our stay in Pousada des Arts. The place is beautiful, tastefully decorated and very well located, very close to the Pelourinho. Eric, the owner, is a great source of information and the staff is very helpful. The rooms are charming and the decoration is very original, colorful and transmits you a lot of the Bahian spirit....
