We bought on price - a one night only experience that replaced a much nicer but too-small pousada room. To get a four-berth for £30 per night is exceptional and you'd expect a few deficiencies. As other reviewers have noted, tiles are chipped and paint is peeling and the communal areas can seem a bit worn out, but lady -... More

Well, I've booked a hotel room for four people and it had private bathroom. When we arrived, we discovered that it was a mix of hotel and hostel, and that the Hotel has some hostel roons in it. This makes a difference, because there's a lot of guests and a lot of interaction with people all around the world. It... More

I stayed in the dorm room here for a couple of nights and I found this to be a nice place. The location close to the beach is excellent and the breakfast was probably the best I had in South America. Like most places the front was done up very nicely and once you got into the rooms a bit... More

We stayed here for 5 days in a private room with private bathroom, the room was very big, i think we had a corner room. We also had a balcony and could see the ocean. The room itself was clean, just a few maintenance issues- chipped tiles, marks on the walls, and once we received smelly towels a couple of... More

The entrance and common areas here have a more trendy or upscale feel than most other hostels I stayed in. The dorm was a typical dorm, but not bad in any way. This was also just a block from the beach, and across the street from the grocery store so the location was very convenient. The Pros: 1) Great (relatively-... More

Regarding the hostel itself - the title says it all. I must say that the staff was very very helpful and this is what made my experience here a positive one. They did everything in their power to help with whatever we needed and they are all very proficient in English. The room was very basic, old but relatively clean... More

This place was average. Great location. The private room was ok and did the job however you were overlooked by other windows so you would have to shut the curtains to get ready. Also the curtains were not big enough so they did not cover the whole window! Very annoying! The main problem was the staff- they were so rude... More

I went to Salvador last week and in the search for a hostel, I kept one thing in my mind : Salvador's transportation system is awful, so I must be next to the most important places. So I begun to search for hostels in Barra. The area near the Pelourinho is quite dangerous at night and near Rio Vermelho (the... More
