I stayed in this hotel with two other female friends for two nights. I had read some nerve-wracking things about Salvador and so had some trepidation with staying in Pelourinho, but I'm so pleased that we did. Yes, Salvador is not the most safe city, but I felt VERY comfortable at Bahiacafe hotel. I loved being in the the city... More

This hotel is well located in Pelourinho, just two blocks away from the elevator to Cidade baixa (Lower City). My room was spacious and clean, with a high ceilings. The bathroom, too, was spotless. The wifi was reliable. And the noise from the street was not a problem, since my room was located at the back of the hotel on... More

Bahiacafe was the perfect hotel for us to explore Salvador. Its right in the centre, so it's not too far to walk to anywhere, and it's great value for money. The rooms are spacious and very clean, and there is a lovely bar plus a room with a pool table for when it's a little rainy outside! Only downside was... More

Internally the building is a stunning and beautifully presented restoration of a colonial building. I found the hotel to be very clean and, unlike some other reviews, not the least bit malodorous. The room was more than adequately sized, the bed large and comfortable and the aircon effective. WiFi was good in all parts of the hotel except the breakfast... More

During our month long trip in Brazil we stayed at Bahiacafe on 3 separate occasions due to its perfect location, which was right close to the Pelourinho, Lacerda and the marina where we caught boats to and from Morro de Sao Paulo. We stayed in 3 different rooms, they were all extremely clean, with amazing bathrooms and super comfortable beds,... More

This hotel consists of a couple of old buildings that have been joined and recently renovated on a tight budget but with taste. Some of the less expensive rooms are really small. As in many hotels in Brazil the sinks don't have siphons and in this particular hotel this leads to toilet smell in some of the rooms (we changed... More

Its hard to over describe the care and attention that has gone into this beautiful restoration hotel. It's tastefully done with beautiful decor and art, and cool mixture of modern ( eg polished concrete) with traditional African art. Rooms are comfortable , with good air con, comfy beds and walk in showers.wifi is virtually everywhere and good. The hotel is... More

I've been in Salvador with some friends and we choose this hotel based on its convenient location in the heart of the old town - Pelourinho. During the day it is safe to visit the surroundings, but in the night all the tourists are gone and on the streets you can see only the homeless people. Although the central location... More

I have very mixed feelings about this hotel. It's located in the lively Pelourinho, the historic centre of Salvador, and therefore very convenient for the sights in that area, but directly behind the hotel there is a 'no go' area which we were warned about by the hotel staff, i.e. drug dealers etc, therefore extremely noisy at night, and initially...
