This place is amazing. This was my first point of call for my trip to Brasil for the world cup. I didnt have enough money to pay the taxi upon my 1am arrival so the hostel lent it to me as no atms in the area were working. I paid them the next day and all good. Room are fine... More

I totally recommend it. We stayed in a private double room twice during our trip in Brazil: Maputo and Cabo Verde (the rooms are named after different cities and countries). They were both excellent, especially Maputo. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they speak some different languages, which helps a lot. Albert was our favourite, but Ceci and... More

I had a nice stay there. One of the best hostels to make connections for solo travellers Pro's : good atmosphere, helpful staff, nice breakfast, free caipirinhas, good location A small con : although the place is clean, toilets tend to clog a lot

Location was good, the hostel was a bit small but cosy. The staff was OK but they did not make you feel very welcome. The free caparinas were good and the vibe in the hostel was nice. The con's: There was a lack of normal facilities like soap in the toilet to wash your hands. No ladder to climb to... More

Pros +very good breakfast, until noon +free drinks from 5 to 6 +good for meeting people +well managed place +safe Con's -Double room is totally overpriced (180R), not worth the premium. Better to stay to the hostel at the beginning of the street (130R for a better room). I think the dorms are better value for money (40R) -very small... More

I really liked staying in Galeria 13! The location is excellent, because it's right in the centre of Pelourinho, the historic part of Salvador. The guys at the reception informed us veeery well about where to go, what to do and everything else we needed to know. You don't have to be afraid about walking around there, they also told... More

I could not believe how good the free Caipirnha hour was! I've stayed in a hostel previously which provided one free Caipirinha per day but at Galeria 13 you literally get as many free Caipirhnas as you can drink in an hour - my best was 4. The breakfast was amazing, the best breakfast I've had in Brazil thus far.... More

This is the best hostel in Salvador with an awesome experience. The owner is quite friendly and he promotes a culture which encourages people to interact with each other. During my stay, there was a free Caipirinha hour. Things like this ensure that people stay in the common area which helps them make new friends. The owner also has a... More

This was the best hostel I stayed at while in South America. It is in a fantastic location in Pelourinho. The rooms are comfortable enough. While there were 10 beds in my dorm, the rooms were large enough not to feel too crowded. The breakfast is excellent and goes until midday. The happy hour with free caipirinhas was brilliant. It... This hostel is up there with one of my favorites I've traveled. The staff is quite friendly, especially the owner. I had the unfortunate incident the day prior to arriving with being pick pocketed in Lapa, Rio (be careful there). Although it wasn't anything serious, it was a huge inconvenience to my travels. My debit card + back up (accidentally... More
