Stayed for one night before an Amazon tour, was only there for 8 hours but it was long enough. We had a 'superior room' which has hot water, a fridge and is apparently a nicer room - I dread to think what a basic room would have been like. Gaps in the door were taped up, air con was barely... More

My wife and I visited the Amazon and stayed here on the first night of our arrival. The hotel is in a pretty good location but don't expect much in terms of conveniences. The room was maybe 9 feet by 9 feet and just big enough for a bed. The shower only had cold water and no soap or shampoo... More

I thought this place was alright. I thought it was safe and clean. I am not really sure what the negative reviews are all about. I would stay here again. It is a good value and a GREAT location. It is really close to the Teatro Amazonas (the opera house).

We spent a night at this hotel after returning from an Amazon tour at a place where there was no water. Not just hot water, any water. So we loved it here. We took showers, turned on TV and spread out on real beds. The hotel is by no means luxurious and there are no English speaking clerks. But the... More

This hotel is one of the worst ever. Considering what you get for the $R 90,- we paid it is not cheap either. Highly recommend people to look elsewhere for better accomodation. When we arrived we got a room without window. There was a group of drunk men drinking beer and shouting songs in front of our door. Luckily it... More

We stayed one night before starting up our Amazon trip with Iguana Tours (that is why we had been accommodated here). The tour was fantastic, but the hotel is simply disappointing. The building lacks of any character and friendliness. Our room was just terrible: it was in the back section, down in the basement - extremely basic, stuffy, dark, somehow... More

Great location close to Teatro Amazonas, safe and mostly peaceful through the night. My room is really good, with hot shower, airconditioning, tv and even a fridge! Breakfast spread limited, but there's plenty of bread and scrambled eggs.

Good - Low room rates (be sure to ask for an upper floor). Fridge in the room. Helpful, English-speaking staff in the daytime, not at night. The location, 2 blocks from Teatro Amazonas and close to tour agencies. We had booked our Amazon jungle tour in advance and so were not hassled the way I understand that you can be.... More

We got a room in this hotel included from amazon backpackers, and it is without a doubt one of the worst places i have had the misfortune of spending my time. The room smelled rotten, like something had died in there, it had one window with a view to the hallway, so passersby could look into your room. the whole... More
