I stayed at the Tropical Hotel Manaus for a number of nights in transition from Sao Paulo to the Amazon and then from the Amazon to Rio de Janerio The hotel has a colonial look and feel to it , including a games room the dominos games set and green Baize card table for playing bridge or cribbage. The facilities... More

OK, sometimes you have to put things into perspective. There are not a large number of hotels that are good/decent in Manaus. I am not talking about Amazon lodges or resorts... but am referring to hotels in the city. I have stayed here twice... and have not stayed elsewhere in the city. But, I have looked at some of the... Dear Mr(s). 2006TravelBug, We thank you very much for your comments. We highlight that our guest’s observations are very important and allow us to improve our positive aspects and to correct our operational failures. The Tropical Manaus Ecoresort is considered touristic patrimony of the Amazonas State. Built in colonial style and inserted in the forest, it counts with rustic decoration... More

I've stayed at the Tropical Manaus twice already and it continues to fail to impress. I'm sure once it was a nice hotel but it continues to be more run down. The staff varies from great to downright rude. The AC barely works, the fixtures in the rooms are hit and miss and it's just flat tired. It's a long... More

Our luxury cruise line, Seabourn, put us here for the overnight before our cruise departure down the Amazon. Slightly better accommodations than summer camp. Slightly. The sad thing is the quality of the hotel's construction suggests that at one time it may have been a grand hotel. Marble floors and beautiful woodwork make the foyers the most beautiful part of... We stayed here for 2 nights before our Amazon adventure. The hotel is older, but the rooms are big, with clean washrooms, wifi and air conditioning. The breakfast was ok, not much to chose from, but the dinner buffet by the pool was great! The hotel has a nice pool and a mini zoo. There are animals native to the... More

Hotel is old style and they should take care about maintenance, specially on the pier (garbage and broken stairs, difficult access). Therefore, the view from the pier is amazing. There is a zoo inside which you can find native animals as many other attractions Food is ok. Breakfeast service is full, sometimes missing spoon or something like that. If u... More

Stayed here for one night before an Amazon cruise. Check in was efficient and room was decent, it was great that I was allowed a late checkout. Also good that it has a schedule of activities for everyday. The worst thing about this hotel is the service - went to the pool bar during the day and was ignored by... More

Before and after a river cruise on Rio Negro we stayed here for 2 nights. Both times we were very, very disappointed. At our first visit the man in the reeption was rude, unpolite and uniterested. We had to change rooms 2 times to get one without too much smell and odour of damp. Most of the hotel have a... More
