If you're heading to Manaus, pay for a different hotel - one that doesn't keep jaguars in a small pen. This hotel is otherwise completely fine, but you should know that your money is going to support an outdated zoo, with cages that are much too small for the animals. The jaguar was one of the most depressing sights I've... More

I went on a business trip to Manaus and invited my wife to come along. We stayed in one of the new suites which was ample, clean but with rather boring decor. Check-in was OK. Breakfast and dinner were OK but hardly spectacular. As we are fluent in Portuguese we chatted with the zoo biologist who was very friendly. The... More

This hotel doesn't come up to 5 or even 4 stars. It is a decent colonial style hotel that should be considered a 3 star hotel in a relatively safe and family friendly area of town. Unfortunately, there was not much to do near the hotel in the was of bars and restaurants apart from the kiosks on the beach.... More

We were booked into this place by our travel agency. Our room and the whole wing smells like they just fumigated with chemicals (Eco Resort??) The beds are very hard, the restaurants were closed from 3-7 PM, we were told that we could order room service, but we don't even want to sit on the moldy chairs. STAY ELSEWHERE!

This Hotel is a very pleasant place - I did not go expecting a 5 Star experience. I was however, comfortable, and felt safe. The Hotel definitely felt like something right out of a Hollywood movie, my room was in the older Colonial structure, clean and cool with a working mini fridge. As far as staff - well NO they... This hotel is probably the most well known in Manaus as it was (about 30 years ago...) the first deluxe establishment in the area. Now we experienced a terribly bad service (so to say no service at all...): staff at reception desk speaking only Portugese, very noisy restaurant with bad service, no assistance at the swimming pool, old furniture,, etc...... In this hotel we had a terrible experience in wich Manaus' beauty is complitly lost although the hotel has a great location right beside the river, it is completly lost. The hotel is huge, to a point that it gets uncomfortable and nonpracticle because of the gap between place and place. After a long trip one wants to rest and... More

First I will give the positive aspects of the hotel: the location is very good, right by the Rio Negro shore which has a walk way very close to the hotel. The hotel is huge and has some unique attractions such as their own zoo with some of the Amazon animals. The breakfast was very nice with a lot of... More

we had one night at this hotel. The room was supposed to be new. Furnishings the cheapest. No pictures and very ugly. Bathroom shower was dirty. We ordered room service for a cup of tea and told they did not have tea. We then ordered camomile tea and coffee and it still did not arrive so we gave up. Loud... More
