The Tropical Hotel has had better days. I was given an upgraded room #1426, for which I thank the staff. Starting with that, it was a great suite. Two bathrooms, large living and huge bathroom. Facing the swimming pool, which wasn't bad at all. Due to many business meetings, I had not had a chance to formally check out other... More

It's a well located Resort, plotted into a small private jungle reserve, with easy access to the city of Manaus, as well as close to facilities and services like drugstores, markets and local restaurants. The hotel has it's own facilities like coffeeshops, tobacco shops, jewelry store of high standards, and even a pub (The Jungle Beach), so you can still... More

I have stayed in the Tropical many times over the years, but not recently. Returning this week, I was deeply disappointed by the decay of the facility and the clear signs that this hotel is near the end of its life. The hotel should be the best in town, and years ago, it was. It has lovely old rooms, a... More

this hotel is a starting point for many Amazon cruises, as such it is convenient choice to stay a night before or after the cruise (so that was the reason we chose it). There are no other benefits. If you are not departing or arriving, please consider staying somewhere else as everything else in this hotel is average or poor.... More

A large Hotel close to the Ria Negra and an easy drive from the airport. Comfortable rooms on long wide corridors. Slight smell of damp greets you, but could be the Amazon humidity. Well frequented by the airline crews. Acceptable breakfast but nothing special. Language difficulty with the bar staff who had difficulty understanding 12 people in a group wanted... More

This hotel is mostly used by flight crew because of proximity to the airport. If you take a look at reviews, You will see that the manager keeps saying “Thank you very much for your comments. We are constantly seeking to improve our services”, but no attempt is seen to improve the situation of this place. Is replacing the old... More

Dear Mr. Abtin H, We thank you for your comments and are very sorry that we did not meet your expectations. Quiet because it's a low density building with wide and long corridors. Swimming pools and lakes with fishes or turtles contribute to a pleasant ambience. A small Zoo it's also a good place to relax as it is in the middle of dense vegetation. Very large rooms and a grteat variety of food contribute to an enjoyable stay.

We stayed in the hotel for one night on our way into the jungle. It is a very old, very classic hotel. with beautiful woodwork and large bedrooms. Yes the place can do with some maintenance and the passages are very long. But it is old and classic. The constant maintenance for this hotel is a huge job. The staff... More

I would agree with a number of comments regarding the layout of the hotel. Some rooms are a long way from the facilities. We were there for two nights and had rooms that were identical. They were large with two queen beds and an antiquated TV. Good size shower room. The room was clean and the A/C super efficient, in... More
