If you can, spend some extra money to stay in an upper suite. The regular suites are old and the beds are very small and not comfortable at all. For breakfast, relax... they might take a while. This hotel used to be a 5 star hotel, nowadays, you could have it as a 3 star... but still the best option... more

This is the best hotel in Manaus, and would rate between 3 and 4 stars in the US, but you don't come to Manaus for the hotel. The first impression of the hotel is "dark" probably due to dark woods that are used in the hallways and the reception and not enough lighing fixtures. As mentioned by others, many rooms... more

Was placed here for 1 night when my flight was canceled and rescheduled. Beautiful, massive hotel, with attentive staff and nice accommodations. However, it wasn't without problems. First assigned to a room which had a strong sour, dank odor. Carpets looked like they really needed to be cleaned, but bed seemed clean. Transferred to another room. Carpets still didn't look... more

Love this hotel... This is as good as it gets in Manaus. It's the four seasons the Ritz of Manaus. The rooms are good, I would be upset if in the US If I paid this price and only had a single bed and old TV, but this hotel is so much more. The wave pool with the swim up... more

We stayed here with five grandchildren. It has the posibility of a great hotel, but is poorly run. The management is uncopperative, many rooms smell, the room are run down, It is way overpriced. typical was the inability of the staff to cook and omlette at the brakfast buffet. The saving feature of the hotel was the pools. Local redients... more

Main hotel is run down - we had a confirmed reservation but when we showed up at 1 AM from flying 11 hours - they had no room - put us in the business section across the way which turned out to be better. We later visited with friends staying in the old section - they were very very unhappy.... more

We were there for christmas eve (for 1 nights) and left the next morning for 4 days trip to Amazonas. The hotel is situated 30 min from Manus-city, which is in our point of view one of the worst places, we ever have been to! The hotel has a nice, large lobby & Bar. There are some shops in the... more

Let's face it, this hotel is not perfect. At times, you will even come to think you are trapped in the "Shining" (the film), notably when on your way to your room (most likely a good 500 meters away from the reception....). The rooms are more than a bit outdated, and though this hotel must have been a national gem... more

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Tropical Manaus for 2 nights back in August 2006. We stayed here to have a relaxing time after flying from San Francisco and before heading into the jungle on our safari trek. We enjoyed staying here for the most part as it was a clean place with friendly service and had a nice... more
