The hotel is huge, beautiful, and comfortable, offering all types of amenities. The rooms are old and need some refurbishing. Food is good and offers variety. The really negative point for me was that I stayed in a room very far away from the lobby (about 500 meters away), and the front desk usually took long to answer the phone... More

We stated for one night and the next morning we went to Amazon river cruise for 3 nights. Landscaping and outdoor was great also the pool was beautiful. The building was very old and it seemed to be over 30 years old hotel . Not very clean and long walking to rooms

Dear Mr. rkafami, We thank you very much for your comments. We highlight that our guests observations allows us to improve our positive aspects and to correct our operational failures. The Tropical Manaus Ecoresort is considered touristic patrimony of the Amazonas State. Built in colonial style and inserted in the forest, it counts with rustic decoration made of Jacarandá wood.... This hotel gives the impression of having been someone's grand design thirty years ago and now fallen into disrepair. Rooms are incredibly old fashioned and basic. Food is expensive and mediocre. Service very mixed. Most restaurants were closed with the hotel trying to push people through the main restaurant buffet.

I was at this hotel more than 20 years ago an d it was superbe, except the depression of the zoo, which was there already! The prominent elegance and good taste turned into a common vulgar resort, with too poor options for eating (and terrible service everywhere) opposite to the past. There used to be several pools, now just one,... More

I've been in this hotel for a convention. Even though it's a comfortable hotel, there are some concerns: One day they've took away the towels and had no clean towels for replacement. They have a zoo, that for me it's completely freak. The animals are kept in small jails. Really sad seeing them like that. Good points are: the beds... More

We visited Manaus during the World Cup and stayed at The a Tropical hotel for 12 days. Our room was spacious and clean but in the older section of the hotel. Be sure to specify you want an updated new room when booking, most likely in section 3300. The room was a bit damp but is not doubt because it... More

The hallways are dark and there are mosquitos waiting you to open the door. Killed two in my room with hairspray (because the ceiling is high and hairspray is ideal to not miss). In general its OK to stay but overpriced. Ask them to bring repellent.

We visited in June 2014 to watch England play Italy. The hotel was located near the beach and river, with various excursions available. Also near to the airport but 20 mins from centre. The rooms are nice, the food mediocre, but the reason I'm writing this review is what they call the "mini-zoologico", a "mini-zoo" with enclosures that are no doubt too small for the impressive animals they restrain. Granted, I am not a zoo person this isn't a hunter for life suddenly converting. But the first thing you see when you enter... More
