After travelling and working in the amazon rainforest for 2 months I recently revisited the Maguire guesthouse in Manaus for a leisurely break after a previous visit 3 years ago. Returning to the guesthouse was like picking up were I left, the pleasant and helpful company of the owners, Clive and Naicee, the reaquantance with luxuries after months of jungle... More

Nice B&B: clean, relaxing, spacious and the owners are really kind and nice people. She drove us all around Manaus. The dog of the couple is soo funny... I suggest this place for people visiting Manaus and the Amazons.

What an incredible gem of a place: wonderful hosts, spacious bedroom with a beautiful view, spotless shower/wc, bountiful and delicious breakfasts. Clive and Naice provided service and attention above and beyond anything I expected. Their guesthouse was the perfect place to recharge our batteries between jungle excursions, -- it is very comfortable and the garden is GORGEOUS. I spent an... More

We have stayed at Maguire's on the strength of previous reviews, paying considerably more than usual. Last year we stayed at an outstanding Pousada on the Morro in Bahia, paying almost half what we paid here, thus based on the reviews and the price we were expecting something very good indeed. To start with the postives, the House is very... More

We are very pleased, and not a little humbled, by the steady stream of positive reviews our guests have thus far been kind enough to give us. We are not perfect (and don’t pretend to be), but we do try very hard to exceed all our guests’ expectations. In the case of this reviewer, we obviously failed substantially, which pains... More

We started out our trip with 2 days at this cute little guesthouse with our wonderful hosts Clive and Naice. What can I say? It was wonderful! Clive and Naice couldn't do enough for us. We felt very much at home and I could have stayed a few days more. Clive took us on a river tour one day which... More

Clive and Naice are wonderful, warm people who anticipate your every need. We felt like we were visiting with family who really wanted us to be visiting. Always felt comfortable. The baby is delightful and just a pleasure to watch starting to walk. The room we stayed in was lovely and we even saw a macaw out in the trees.... More

Thanks to TripAdvisor’s outstanding Traveler Reviews, my husband and I (and another couple) stayed two nights at Maguire’s Guesthouse after our cruise ship docked recently in Manaus. We only wish we could have stayed longer! If you would like a truly authentic and memorable glimpse of life at the edge of the rainforest, this is the place for you. The... More

I came across this pousada solely by luck. I had planned to stay a day in the region to wined down and relax with hopes of seeing the waters, enjoying/learning about the Amazon, and meeting with a friend of mine all within a short period of time. Upon my late arrival into Manaus and being hassled by a bunch of... More

My wife and I spent two nights at their guesthouse. The best B&B we have ever stayed in. The owners went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Each evening Naice drove us to a nearby restaurant and stayed with us until she explained the menu for us. After we ordered she gave us her cell... More

In one word, "WOW". Clive and Naice are the nicest, most accommodating hosts ever. From the welcome caipirinha cocktails (after a 4.5 hour commute from the jungle lodge) to the drop off service at the airport, this B&B is fabulous. We were in the deluxe room which was everything anyone needs. Air-conditioned, large shower, TV, fridge etc. Breakfast in the... More
