We originally planned to stay 1 night here before our Chalalan tour but ended up not due to the loud party being thrown by the military nearby. We were warned right away upon arrival by the owner that there was a fiesta going on that evening and the hotel room would be extremely noisy. So we moved out and was... More

This is a basic hotel, but the beds are clean and the showers both functional and hot. The staff are friendly and the wi-fi works. In a place such as Rurrenabaque you can’t really ask for anything more; other hotels and hostels here may well be worse. But you can only dream of air-con, mini-bars, chairs . . .

We spent in this hotel one night before our Pampa tour. Hotel is very nice and comfortable, you can spent a lot of time in hammock. Breakfast is very simple and staff have a lot of time to do everything... But et al, the whole Rure is very lazy :)

We stayed here for two nights, one either side of our jungle and pampas trip. It's nothing special but perfectly okay and good value (150 Bolivianos for a double room). The room and private bathroom were clean and breakfast was pretty good, especially the fresh juice! The outdoor area with lots of hammocks and seats was nice - great for... More

I arrived at the hotel after a flight change and did not have a reservation. Staff helped me find a room I liked and mosquito proofed it on request with a spray. The rooms are functional and surround a leafy courtyard. I would have liked blinds instead of see through curtains but chose a room in the back so there... More

I stayed at the Oriental twice, before and after an amazing trip to Berraco del Madidi - an excellent eco-camp in the jungles of Madidi National Park (possibly the best place in South America to experience the Amazon and see amazing wildlife with superb guides). Hotel Oriental is right on the plaza, so it's very central. All the ground-floor rooms... More

We liked this place. Decent rooms, breakfast included (though typical buns and fruit), wifi worked well (better closer to front of hotel), water in showers was hot. Nice hammock area for relaxing. We stayed there twice on either end of pampas trip and would recommend it to others.

Pros: Cheap, clean, good location, reasonable price, nice gardens with hammocks (huge plus for me, super relaxing) , accommodating helpful staff, ceiling fans, wifi, decent breakfast Cons: Room smelled funny Wifi slow

I stayed at the Hotel Oriental on a Saturday night and regret it deeply. For 100 Bs, the hotel was adequate but it is next to a bar/disco that blasted music until 5 AM. Loud dance music until midnight. Then Latin until around 3 AM. Then loungey Latin from 3 AM to 5 AM. It was almost hellish, even with... More

Upon return from the Madidi Jungle, I had to stay in Rurrenabaque for one night before taking the next morning flight to La Paz. I met someone on the trip who recommended the Oriental Hotel, so I booked a night there. I was given room 17. After I put my luggage in the room, I noticed a lot of ants... More
