We stayed at this pleasant hotel for 2 nights after catching the ferry from Corfu before heading up to Vlora. It is the perfect location for visiting the fabulous Butrint archaeological park and also Ksmail beach. The rooms were clean and spacious; complete with air conditioning. Food was good with local Albanian dishes - breakfast was fried eggs and feta... More

Very interesting hotel, built in stone and red bricks that makes it look authentic in the landscape, great location near historical site of Butrint. The room was not big, was huge! We had a double bed in which we stayed entire family (2 adulta & 2 kids) to watch a football game, plus 1 mobile bed and a corner sofa... More

This hotel is good choice for one night, if you are planning to visit nature park next to hotel. Location is peaceful away from Sarande's more hectic beach bulevards. Restaurant offers local dishes, e.g. mussels from the lake nearby. Raki was also ok. Our room was renovated and air conditioned. Downside is a breakfast without any choice. Free wifi and... More

The previous reviews were all in 2013. We were there in October 2013 and for a start the road from the Greek border varies from good to a bit bumpy for a short time but not too bad. This area is now covered with mandarin trees and some green crops - a complete change in the last few years. I... More

I booked two nights in the Livia hotel to make a visit to Butrint easy. This was not necessary. One night near the site would have given us all the time at Butrint that we needed. The Livia hotel has a fabulous situation. Near the water and near the site. And it is designed to look well in the setting.... More

Pretty little hotel, the only one in Butrint, and fairly empty while we were there. 5 minute walk to the ruins. Most tourists appear to stay in Saranda and take the 20-30 minute local bus to the ruins. Air conditioning worked well. Room had no view to speak of but pleasantly situated amidst the trees and greenery. Took a lovely... More

Passing through the border checkpoint at Mavromati, northwestern Greece, into southern Albania, we drove north into a timewarp that could have transported us back to Greece of 60 years ago! Horses and donkeys hitched to carts compete on the difficult roads with modern automobiles, and the stultifyingly industrial post-communist architecture abounds. But south of the southern port of Sarande, on... More

The hotel is in a wonderful location, very close to the Butrint archeological site. It's right at the bottom of Albania and only about 20 km from the Greek border. The surrounding landscape is just beautiful, in the middle of the Butrint National Park. However, we had all sort of problems, ranging from dirty rooms and wardrobes, falling apart bathrooms,... I guess it could easily to be the one of the best hotels of Albania – the impressive kitsch house just side by side to famous ancient site Butrint, in the middle of forest with the view to lake... Hotel room was nice, but otherwise it is typical Albanian management: broken bathroom door, sharing toilet with ants, absence of mosquito... More

It's quite difficult to review accomodation in albania as the general rule seems to be that you cant expect too much in relation to cleanliness, decor and details, it is still a poor country. If this hotel was in greece (for example) my ratings would be at least a star lower. The twin room we had was comfortable but basic,... More
