The whole building is already worth visiting. A red bridge is at the 2nd floor. Beautiful interior design. Rooms are designed in traditional Japanese style. Pillow is made of beans. For me it is acceptable, but my girlfriend felt it was too hard. Bathroom and restroom are shared. Toothpaste, toothbrushes and hair dryer are all available. For shower, we had... More

This ryokan has a lot of character. The building has a nice interior garden, a red bridge between some of the rooms, the rooms are Japanese style but quite large, very comfortable. Good wifi, nice bath, and very friendly owner and staff. We did not try the meals so we cannot comment. A useful tip for you: They rent bikes... More

Rooms are nice and there's good, strong wifi in the rooms. The place has a ton of character - a garden, a bridge, a hand-crank gramophone... Very interesting place. The bath is just so-so. Make sure to reserve breakfast in advance (at booking), otherwise you may not be able have it. We tried to reserve it when we checked in... More

Just perfect. High services but low price. Well located in Ise , just 5 minutes from the station. The staff is particularly kind. Built around a small but beautiful japanese garden. Really a nice place to stay and very good value for money. Breakfast is good too, served in a cute japanese room on tatamis. A genuine Ryokan, what else.

I am a Japanese living on the Gold Coast, Australia, and was looking for a place to stay during my trip to Ise shrine and this ryokan was brought to my attention via trip advisor. I checked the ryokan's website and made a telephone call to arrange a reservation. The first thing the staff advised me was that the building... More

Hoshidekan is a small traditional hotel (ryokan) in the city of Ise, famous for its two shrines. The staff is extremely friendly: when they found out that we were leaving for Tokyo, and without us asking for it, they rushed to print out for us maps of Tokyo's subway system, and during our stay they were helpful in more than... Great to stay in such a beautiful old traditional hotel. It is 90 years old and the original character is all still there. Furnished in a traditional style and well looked after by the friendly owner couple whose family have always owned the ryokan. The bedrooms are smaller (but OK) with futon bed with shared bathroom. There is an onsen... More

We stayed 3 nights there and enjoyed our stay very much. The house is amazing, with it's little garden inside, the host are great and always ready to hand you a map of the place you're gonna visit, the onsen is delightful and the traditional rooms are great and clean. The price is reasonable, you can have breakfast, there's a... More

This place might be the most traditional and authentic place in Isé but is totally under maintained and costs far too much compared to other ryokans. The people were very kind but the rooms never cleaned, beds not made, food very poor quality. We paid about 25000 Yen per night for 2 adults and 1 child, room + breakfast +... More
