Staff very friendly and warm welcome, I love oncen water is a bit too warm but I get use to it after a few times. Good location not far from yubatake and quiet. Hotel has shuttle bus send me to bus station just tell front desk your train time. I had a very good time here.

The Kusatsu Hotel was our first experience of Japanese style accommodation on our motorcycle tour. When we arrived at the hotel a member of staff ran out to meet us clutching a sheet of paper with our names on, they insisted on carrying all our luggage and crash helmets to the reception and then upstairs to our beautiful room after... This ryokan is right next to the entrance to Sainokawara Park, where the very large outdoor onsen is. It is also just about a 5-minutes walk away from Yubatake and about 10-15 minutes walk from the bus station. The free shuttle to get you to the hotel starts sometime in afternoon, so it is best to contact ahead if you... More

This ryokan is beautiful, and our rooms were exceptionally comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were served in our room, and the food was great. Just a short five minute walk to the center of town. Overall very nice!

Staff of this hotel is the best of the best. You can feel their sincerity and kindness. We stayed one night only but loved the experience. Futon can be abit hard if not used to it. They have a private onsen bath for reservation without charge.

This ryokan/hotel just blew me away. I just spent almost 2 weeks in Japan and you get use to great service everywhere you go. However, Kusatsu Hotel took it up another notch. I like to provide some travel instructions in my reviews because those tend to be the reviews I find the most helpful. Getting to Kusatsu can be a... More

Great Ryokan! If you are not used to strip naked in front of strangers in Japanese onsen, this Ryokan provides a few small private onsen for you to use (no extra charge). They also have foot bath next to the lobby which open until late. Just don't stay in the annex room, I booked Japanese-style twin room with private bath... More

it's a good Japanese style hotel with hot spring facilities, more importantly it accomodates solo travellers at a price that is not too expensive - given it's quality of facilities & services. i stayed for 2 nights in May & i used their hot spring public bath facilities which are quite good. wifi is only available at the lobby, meals... Stayed here for two nights. Not to be confused with Kusatsu Now Resort Hotel; this one is located almost in Yukatake, like 3min walk to the town’s centre but probably not within walking distance to the ski field. I believe they provide shuttle to the ski area but we had our own vehicle and less than a 5min drive. Excellent... More

Kusatsu Hotel is located at one end of Sai No Kawara Street and the beginning of Sai No Kawara Park. It is very close to the Yubatake. The public bath has 3 pools, one of which is an open air pool (rotenburo). WI-FI in the lobby only. Meals (dinner & breakfast) were served in the room. The room was really... More
