Stayed here for two nights. Not to be confused with Kusatsu Now Resort Hotel; this one is located almost in Yukatake, like 3min walk to the town’s centre but probably not within walking distance to the ski field. I believe they provide shuttle to the ski area but we had our own vehicle and less than a 5min drive. Excellent... More

Kusatsu Hotel is located at one end of Sai No Kawara Street and the beginning of Sai No Kawara Park. It is very close to the Yubatake. The public bath has 3 pools, one of which is an open air pool (rotenburo). WI-FI in the lobby only. Meals (dinner & breakfast) were served in the room. The room was really... More

My decision to stayed here is partly owing to the price compared to what the other ryokans/hotels which are nearer to the Yubatake are charging. This hotel turned out to be as good as the positive reviews on TA. It's a bit further from the Yubatake but it's not a far walk. In fact, you will want to explore the... More

Stayed for 2 nights at the Kusatsu Hotel after travelling up from Tokyo - quite a long train ride followed by service bus and shuttle bus rides. We were so pleased to have left one suitcase at Tokyo! We were met by incredibly friendly staff and even with the language problems they ensured we where comfortably settled - even though... More

Stayed at this hotel for a night in June and was blown away by the friendly staff, beautiful decor and great "Japanese-style" room. The property was immaculate and situated just adjacent to the park. I can't wait to come back here again.

Top notch service and clean & well-kept rooms. Location is very convenient, with good ryokan style meals. Relative to other ryokans in the area, it is moderately priced and very good value-for-money. HIghly recommended. I've stayed there 4 times already, and all have been great.

We took the Kusatsu limited express from Ueno station (Tokyo) to Naganohara Kusatsu station, a 2.5hours train journey. It was followed by a 25 minute bus ride to Kusatsu Bus Terminal. Pros : 1. Great service - the hotel picks you up and drop you off anytime on request. The hotel provided slippers for you to change in when you... More

This is one of the older and more charming accommodations in this spa town. The premises are well maintained, the room was comfortable (we chose the ground floor and therefore had little in the way of a view) and the meals excellent. The staff try very hard and, as is the style with ryokan, are ever-present (putting out your futon,... More
