We walked downhill from bus station for about 10-15 minutes walk and easily found Boun. It was located in a enclosed area and separated from the"onsen street" by another 5-minute walk from a downhill slope. The hotel was newly furnished and nicely decorated. Given it was chinese new year and the hotel is fully booked, we could not get a... More

We stay in private onsen room. It was really wonderful. The onsen water quality is the most excellent one we have experienced in Japan. The food is disappointing though. Not that delicious. The area is very nice, small village. It's so lovely. We had a great time walking down the road at night with snow flurries coming down.

I stayed for 1 night with my husband(Canadian)and my parents(Japanese)in a newly renovated part of the building. My deciding factors for this ryokan were a complimentary pick up/drop off services available from bus station, its central location, and traditional Japanese meal served in your own room. I booked 2 rooms and both had a mountain view. Having a North American... More

Beautiful hotel with newly renovated rooms. We stayed at the japanese room with private outdoor bath. The private en suite outdoor bath was slightly cloudy (could be due to us forgetting to cover it) but the hotel's 3 onsens with a total of more than 5 pools were pristinely clean and clear. Food was amazing and served in room. Service... More

The location is 10 mins walk from central part of the Kusatsu onsen. It's look like newly renovated with wooden decorated all around the hotel. The room is clean and comforable. There have club lounge to have fee coffee and magaine. Free pick up service from bus terminal can be provided either call them while arrivial or make the reservation... More

The best thing about Kusatsu Onsen Boun is their food. It's amazing how many small dishes they can provide each night. Although I can't say I like all of it, some are certainly better than the others. For example I really look forward to their sashimi every evening. They have given their guests the good quality ones. Their pork chop... More

We spent 2 wonderful nights in this spotlessly clean establishment and were pampered constantly by the friendly staff. There are in total 3 different baths and the schedule is flipped around by gender mid-day so everyone gets to experience everything. We were very fortunate that it had already snowed early this year and the cool down after the hot outside... More

Boun is one of the more expensive ryokan I've ever stayed in (23k¥ on a Thursday night for a single room. ¥/person is usually lower for multiple people/room), but definitely worth it. The location is perfect, a block up the hill from the yubatake, halfway to Sainokawara park. The interior of the inn is wonderful, with sprawling hallways crossing multiple... More

The hotel is on process of renovation. I got a newly-renovated room. Paint-smell is quiet strong in the room. Bed is comfy but pillows are too hard. There are at least 8 electrical outlets in the room. Bathroom is too small and equipped with dated-bathtub. Dinner buffet is just average but their plum cocktail is nice. The onsen here is... More

Location: Although it's on a small hill, the location is between the bus station and Sainokawara park. It's convenient for visitors to sightseeing. Service: Some of the staff can speak English and Chinese. All are very courteous, and they provide prompt service bringing us to the bus station while leaving. Booking: booking online, and we also received telephone confirmation for... More
