The hotel was very clean and the room was small, but nice. The view from our room was spectacular! We took the tram ride, which was ok, and the jet boat ride was fun, but loud. The complementary breakfast in the dining room was ok. The hotel claims that there is wi-fi in all of the rooms, but it only... More

Wilderness, beauty, and quiet. If that is what you are looking for then come here. There is all kinds of hiking to do and if you pass by the mystery shack...pull in! One of the coolest roadside attractions I've been to. This place rocks!

This little gem is located on the new river gorge right above hawk's nest lake. It's not the newest place but most rooms have balcony over looking the gorge. The view is stunning. Fog will hang over gorge in evening, stars are super bright for city people, then there is the trains the run through gorge providing noise but a... More

When we drive from the Chicago area to the Outer Banks, we like to visit some of the National Parks, even going a little way out of our way to do so. We've visited the Smoky Mountains and Shenandoah, and so this year we decided to visit the New River Gorge again. However, there is not a lot of choices... More

We stopped here for the night on our way home. The lodge is nice and quiet. At first when i was trying to find our room, we were way down at the bottom. We walked down 4 flights of stairs and finally found our room. The room was modest but was clean. Had a balcony to look at the view,... More

Stop in for a visit and tram ride, was a raining day but we were still able to ride the tram and at $4.00 totally worth it. The nature center is very well put together for children. We also walked down to "lovers leap" don't be it intimidated by 100 steps down it's really not that bad and the view... More

Made Hawks Nest home base for a few days of hiking and rafting. Good location and incredible views. Room was on small side but balcony views of river compensated for size. Breakfast wasn't much and restaurant was expensive for dinner so plan accordingly. Definitely check on suite availability if plan to spend much time in room with family of four.

Where else can you walk out the back door and ride a tram down to the river for a boat trip to the New River Gorge bridge? Where else can you book a room with a gorgeous view of the tram, river, boat, and hills of WV? The room came with a fantastic view and a balcony for relaxing. The... More

This was first trip to Hawks Nest SP in 30 years. We stayed in lodge which was ultra clean and room had beautiful view of the Gorge. This lodge was built in the 1960's or so but remains a nice property. If you're in Eastern time zone and looking for a calm getaway, give this some consideration. It is in... More

Hawks nest had pretty views but we were expecting a little more from this park.It is a lot smaller than Babcock S.P. but does have some good activities. There are lot's of steps but it is worth it.The view of the bridge was hard to see.We chose to hike down to the bottom which was very steep & a little slippery.One...
