Great accommodations, nice suite. Was there for the Saturday night dinner theater. Food and service was excellent and the show was very entertaining. Would be very hard to find a room with this kind of view, good food and entertainment for the price paid. Excellent value!

Lodge was what you would expect in a state park - could do with a bit of updating. Our room was spacious, with a balcony overlooking the canyon, we never got tired of looking at the views! My husband had teriyaki chicken & rice from room service and he was very satisfied with the meal. We took the cable car... More

My husband & I stayed overnight at the Hawk's Nest State Park Lodge and it was one night too many. To say the lodge is in need of an upgrade is quite the understatement. The exterior of the lodge is in poor shape, a good pressure washing would help, and the interior is not only drab & shabby but it... More

My boyfriend and I stayed only one night but it was one we will not soon forget. The lodge itself was clean and had VERY friendly staff! We ate at the diner in the Lodge. The food was delicious (tasted homemade) and our waitress was really sweet and answered any and all of our questions. After we ate we took... More

My room felt like we were in a tree house. The views were spectacular. Comfortable suite with all you could need. A super comfortable bedding which you need after all the walking around. It had a sitting area, microwave, a mini refrigerator.

We were so fortunate to get this corner suite on the top floor of this older hotel. But, because it was I,der the walls and floors were concrete, so it is very, very quite. The view of the New a River and the old train bridge was beautiful and we loved sell the train traffic. We even saw the Amtrak... More

The lodge itself desperately needs updating. Looks like it's stuck in the 60s. The room we stayed in was nice. Definitely recommend a gorge view room. We loved the balcony and the view. We rode the tram down while we were there, and then a transformer blew in the area. We hiked back up to a lodge with no power... More

We stayed this August.....we had been there about 10 years ago and went to take a room and they had just booked the last room so we wanted to return. We took the tram ride down to the gorge and the river trip. Very nice. Had a nice picnic lunch in the park below. Our room overlooked the gorge and... More

First of all, on trip advisor, there are two separate listings for this one property, one listed under other lodging, and the other listed separately under hotels. They need to be combined as they are one property. This is one of the West Virginia State Park facilities which have a lodge where you can spend the night. The view here... More
