On our way from NYC to Norfolk, VA to see friends and then to Ohio to visit family, we decided to stop at this park and stay at the lodge. Although there was a lot of snowfall and we weren't sure if we could make it, we were had we made the trip. The lodge is a wonderful place with... More

We have wanted to stay here for many years, while the scenery out the windows were beyond lovely, the lodge was just okay. It seems tired and the rooms outdated, the dinner in the restaurant was good, but way way over priced. If it is bad weather, there is NOTHING to do at this lodge, no inside activities, nothing. Even... More

Location, location, location! Hawks Nest Lodge is a great place to stay for those who love hiking, rafting, and all things outdoors. It is a fairly simple State Park lodge, with nice functional rooms and unbelievably gorgeous views over the New River gorge. The price was reasonable and there is free internet and a basic breakfast. The room we have... More

Beautiful location. Older rooms, but clean and reasonably priced. Amazing view of the river below from the balcony. Restaurant provides a complimentary breakfast with oatmeal, cold cereals, breads, juice and coffee. You can also order a very reasonably priced breakfast if you want something more substantial. Front desk staff very helpful and courteous.

Very basic lodgings, but clean. The resturant leave a lot to be desired. I would drive into town the next time for food. . Make sure you get a room with a view. The best views are on the upper floors. We had an OK view. The staff is very nice.

The Hawks Nest Lodge is run by the state parks so no luxury or trendy decor here. The rooms are clean and basic and definitely need updating. My room did not include a coffee maker or refrigerator but other members of my family got these items on a slightly higher priced room so make sure you specify you want these... More

The Hawks Nest Lodge is an older lodge that could use some updating. It's clean and comfortable and the staff are first rate. Parking is great but go else ware for meals. The restaurant offers fair food, but drive for a good meal. The jet boat ride is terrific.

West Virginia state run park but clean efficient but not luxury rooms. The bed was comfortable and the view was awesome overlooking the guards down to the river. As I sat on my balcony, I could see the Hawks soaring in circles above the river which really added to my time there. By all means have dinner at the restaurant... More

Hotel is on State Park property, actual address is Ansted (not far from Beckley). Booked room with view of the Gorge and the view with definitely worth the extra $7, spectacular view of the New River from the balcony. Nice outdoor pool and did the GSYP trail down to the river and then back up with the aerial tramway which... More
