The "official description" above is stale dated because there is new ownership of this place and whomever it is doesn't care a fig about maintaining this Inn. The whole place from the lobby to the rooms needs a complete overhaul and even the garden area needs help. Motel rooms don't have acorn stoves in the middle of the each room... More

Stayed one night as a stopover on our way to catch an early ferry. The price was right, but our room absolutely reeked of mildew. We did not complain as we were only staying one night, but we did mention it upon checkout. The beds were very worn but everything looked clean. The bathroom was clean but due to the... More

Thank you so much for your candid comments. I am really genuinely sorry that you had an unpleasant stay here. I really appreciate you telling me exactly which room is having this trouble; I'm not sure what the issue is but I will most definitely look into it and try to fix it! I personally hate awful smells too. If... More

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in July. Islands Inn is an older building and would benefit from upgrades, particularly the lighting. The three-light track fixture in the ceiling is not attractive. One of the swing-arm lamps by the bed worked fine; the other could only be turned on by tightening the light bulb, and turned off... Hello 3Islands, Thank you for your very realistic portrayal of Islands Inn. I do hope that when folks come to Anacortes they find somewhere that really suits their needs and go home saying how lovely it is to visit Anacortes. Your comments are very helpful. I would concur with all your comments as being typical of Islands Inn except that... More

Stayed at the Islands Inn for a quick weekend getaway before heading to Friday Harbor for a Whale Watching adventure. It was a decent motel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I'd recommend heading out to town for one of the really good breakfasts available. Was not impressed with what they had for their breakfast. Beds were comfortable and the... More

Dear Isullyr92, Thank you for posting your experiences here at Islands Inn. It helps other folks to know what to expect. I was at the desk the evening that the pool got closed and I called someone to fix the gate as soon as I found out. I was thinking of you folks with your kiddos the whole time. I... More

The Islands Inn is an older motel that is kept in fairly good shape on the outside. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable, though certainly not luxurious. The fireplace was a great surprise on a chilly evening. The provided fire log was just enough for our evening. The location in this quaint little town was just right!

Dear Pandora1977, I'm so glad you had a nice time at our Inn and in Anacortes! Quaint is the perfect word for our town on most days- thank you for providing it! When festivals come it does get a bustle to it too. Hope you can come again sometime. If You ever chance through here in December, I'd classify our... More

Nice, clean, well located, perfect for a night of rest after a kayak excursion. Basic Breakfast was included. Free WIFI in all of rooms. Walking distance from downtown and right next to a terrific pizza place.

This hotel was mediocre to be nice. Upon entry we smelled the smell of weed. Worst of all we only got that room after they tried to place us in a room without a/c claiming that this was just the "beginning of the a/c season." There were creatures in the bottom of the swimming pool and the room itself as... More

We had a king fireplace room. Pros: view of the bay, fireplace, duvet cover rather than spread on the bed, quiet, pleasant staff, okay continental breakfast. Cons: dated - carpet needs replacing, molding chipped and missing some places, old fixtures, outside areas in need of weeding and general sprucing up, terribly slow WiFi. It is an okay place but I... Spent a full week at this hotel, and can't complain about anything. The rooms are old fashioned, but clean and pleasant. A perfectly adequate contintental breakfast is provided free of charge. The staff were always helpful and pleasant. The hotel is situated about 2 miles from the very quaint * downtown * Anacortes, but it is an easy walk. There... More

Dated but somewhat updated...check. Clean...check. Thats it. The only ice machine. ..broken. Room 102, Air conditioner....sounds HORRIBLE, waking you up every 10 minutes when it kicks on. Pet friendly? No area to take pet out to do it's business. Open at 7am for coffee. ...not! Still no coffee at 7:20 and had to get going. Sad. Our kids just moved... More
