It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for, in spades. The hotel is only a block and a half from the Rosslyn Metro. We never even heard of Kimpton before, but we booked 4 nights and joined the frequent stay club for free, and got a free upgrade to a large waterview double queen. The room is roomy,... more

I just returned from a fantastic visit and I would highly recommend this hotel. My husband and I travelled with our dog Duke for a July 4th getaway. We drove from NY and it is a rather easy drive. When we arrived the doorman Charles quickly unloaded our car and took us to check in. He made a great first... more

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Palomar! I read the tripadvisor reviews before booking, so I knew what to expect in regards to the pros and cons. Pros: *Very comfortable bed and linens! After a loooonnggg day of walking around DC, it was just what we needed. Clean and airy room! No complaints! Perfect temperature! *Couldn't hear the airplanes,... more

Everything was wrong from the beginning to nearly the end! When we booked our room, we were informed we would overlook the Washington Monument and be able to view the 4th July fireworks from our room while enjoying room service. When we arrived in what is really downtown Rosslyn, we find our "waterfront monument view" is actually toward Georgetown, and... more

I traveled for business and was very happy with the Palomar. This is the first time I’ve stayed at a Kimpton Hotel and was very pleased with the staff, room décor, bed comfort, etc. The hotel staff is courteous and ready to help. The room was spacious, nice modern décor, comfortable bed, great views of the Potomac, flat screen television,... more

The bar staff at this hotel act as though the customers don't exist and they have other, better things to be doing. The hotel never seems very crowded, yet the bar staff are oblivious to the few customers they have. Additionally, the front desk staff at the hotel seem very stiff and uptight compared to staff at comparable hotels. more

I was travelling to Arlington for an evening event in Arlington. I got an excellent rate for the Palomar--a quiet and beautiful hotel in Rosslyn with restaurants and barbershop (recommended by front desk) within easy walking distance. The room had a lovely view over the river and Georgetown, the front desk staff were efficient and personable, it is easy to... more

Reading the glowing reviews (in retrospect) the room offered must relate to the rate paid... I stayed (a last minute reservation) at a government rate of $209, and found myself on the 9th floor in an odd corner room that compared unfavorably in size to some of the smaller Paris hotels I've visited. A huge support column in the corner,... more

I stayed at the Palomar on a last minute trip. I had been through that intersection in the Rosslyn are of Arlington and didn't realize there was a hotel there. The building is part condo and part hotel. The lobby is not on the ground floor, you must take the elevator to the lobby. The front desk staff was terrific... more

This was my second stay this year at the Hotel Palomar, Arlington. Probably due to a high occupancy, I wasn't upgraded like last time. Nonetheless, the room was clean and comfortable. The staff was extremely professional and friendly. I am always at home at Kimpton and appreciate their ability to honor the government per diem rate (though I wish it... more
