Great place in the DC Metro area to stay. Very quiet rooms, calm relaxing evening atmosphere. Great eating nearby, and public transportation very convenient to go into the District of Columbia. Very nice secure neighborhood in which you can walk around and go to nearby grocery store hair cuttery, bakery,and other shops.

I stayed here only because the hotel where the conference was held had filled up early. While it was not the most central/convenient location, Shirlington had plenty of restaurants and was perfectly pleasant. The hotel was modern, clean and comfortable. Added bonus is the grocery store across the street!

Clean, attractive, comfortable. Easy walk to many restaurants. Located in Arlington, away from the bustle and parking problems in DC, but easy to get into the city. Also easy to get to Mount Vernon and Monticello from this location. Would recommend for all travelers, other than those who need to be in the middle of DC.

The hotel was chosen through business arrangements, which is normally not the way I travel. Situated in the Shirlington area, the hotel is not near any Metro lines. This was a great stay for me. Had to go to DC for work and staying at this hotel was just wonderful. To come back to the Villages, the community, the hotel was very restful and pleasant. The staff were all very nice and the location was excellent!

This is a wonderful little property that is convenient to DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland, and is located within a terrific shopping, arts, dining and residential village. Hilton Garden Inn at Shirlington not a bad place to stay but room staff needs to pay attention to detail. Found cookie crumbs on night stand next to chair which makes me wonder about cleanliness of rest of room.

I am probably a naive European traveller, but charging US$ 25 for a 10 minute land-line call (in country, out of state) is disgraceful. I raised this with the front desk during check out and she mentioned that it 'could indeed be expensive' and that she had no access to the phone records so could not confirm the exact reason.......
