My wife and I stayed at the Alexandria, VA Red Roof for two nights in April 2009, and our stay evolved into a nightmare. My wife had about a dozen bites over her body the first day. We couldn't figure it out. It was too early in the year for insects. The next day she had even more. It was... more

From the Outside the hotel looks alright, not horrible, not fancy. The inside of the room is freakin disgusting. Don't Get Me started on The TERMITES just yet. there was some kind of faded stain on one of the sheets, then i went to use the bathroom and barely used any toilet paper and the toilet got stopped up, went... more

website claimed that this inn had been remodeled last year, maybe they got new sheets. mold around bathtub, cramped room, had to pay for Internet service. Fire alarm in the middle of the night. Had to wait for manager to come and turn it off-this took 2 hours. Left shortly after. I found a Quality Inn about 10 min. away at... more

Non- smoking rooms smelled like smoke. Smoke alarms went off at 5:00 a.m. It took two full hours for them to get turned off. The night clerk had no clue how to do it, so the manager had to come in. Why it took him 2 hours to get there, I have no idea. I will say, however, that they... more

Check-in was fine, desk staff were friendly. First room had a pile of used towels and full trashcans; was moved to another room. Second room had lightbulbs missing and no trashcan. All problems were taken care of, and the desk staff said they were going to "write up" the substitute maid who said she cleaned both rooms. Beds were a... more

this hotel is wonderful, it is just outside alexandria, about a 5 minute drive, it is also only a 10 minute walk to the metro station. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the housekeeping is terrific, it was quiet, and really good value for money. the air conditioner worked great, i highly recomend this hotel if you want to see... more

do not stay...the noise level was terrible outside ALL NIGHT ACTIVITIES...and the room was stuffy and did not smell like a non-smoking room. The toilet was clogged and overflowed! We left one day early to find another place to stay.... more

We had a basic, though smallish room with a king bed which had recently been renovated (meaning fresh paint, new cabinetry, and bathroom countertop). Decent for $79 per night and that close to DC. Room was clean and well maintained. For that price range I don't expect much more than safe, clean, and well-located, accommodations. One good thing, is that... more

This location was so-so and wouldn't be at the top of my list. The man behind the counter was nice and was willing to work with me by giving me a discount on top of my already discounted rate when I reserved a non-smoking room only to find out he had none left. I then went to my room after... more
