This hotel was a great location for our trip to DC. The metro yellow line is right across the street! Very easy to get around on the metro. The neighborhood was fine. We took the free Old Town Trolley to some cute shops. The front desk staff was helpful with direction on the bus to Mt. Vernon. More

You can tell the management has been working hard on making this a strong property. Communication was great about the amenities and services available. The train station is across the street and plenty of dining options are in the area. I will recommend this to others heading to the DC area. More

This place has a great location for food, shopping and tourist things. The George Washington National Monument is a short walk and in full view of the hotel. Go up the elevator in the monument and get a great 360 degree view! The hotel has great full breakfast, omelette station, free happy hour in the evening, just a great place..... More

Excellent if a trifle dated property characterized by superior location and accommodating staff seriously compromised by predatory and confiscatory parking arrangements. Reviewers from North Carolina have remarked on this deficit. I can only add that local alternatives appear nonexistent. One pays New York prices to park in an underground facility where parking even a compact sedan is a challenge. The... More

Thank you for your review. As an employee of this hotel I understand that the underground parking garage is at times a challenge and accommodating larger vehicles can be an issue. We share these 1000+ parking spaces with a large business complex and have positioned the parking area closest to the hotel entrance for ease of maneuvering with luggage. I... More

I chose the Embassy Suites at Old Town since it's in a great location; just across the street from the King Street Metro. I normally have a great stay at Embassy Suites, but this night just didn't measure up. As previously noted, the hotel is undergoing a renovation, so things were a little out of kilter, which I can understand,... More

Thank you for your detailed review. As you stated we are still in our renovation stage. We are, however making tremendous progress. Our new restaurant has recently opened for service and is settling in nicely, providing delicious food to hotel guests and neighboring office staff. As we continue updating our hotel throughout the year with a new exercise facility, new... More

As a long time resident of the DC area, I've stayed at this property on numerous occasions catching an early flight out of Reagan, staying close to the Pentagon on a snowy night, or, enjoying a quick overnight getaway to blow off a little steam. You can't beat this hotel's location across the street from the King Street Metro and... More

When I stayed in April 2012, a renovation project was underway. As a result, the morning breakfast was served upstairs in Duke’s Restaurant and not in the Atrium. The temporary set up was crowded, dimly lit and included other compromises like orange juice served in individual plastic containers and a small portable stove for omelettes. The atrium is undergoing renovation... More

I have stayed several times at the Embassy Suites in Old Town Alexandria, on business and on vacation, and it is always a pleasing experience. Their breakfast is always nice. This time they were doing some remodeling but, hey, it goes with hotel maintenance. Just returned from our family of four's Washington, DC spring vacation, having stayed at the Embassy Suites Alexandria-Old Town for 4 nights. We usually rent an apartment but a last minute snafu forced us to book a hotel. The standard two room suite was a good fit for our family. Our 7 and 10 year old boys had a comfortable sleep... More

Thank you for reviewing our property. I am pleased that you were able to stay with us and that your stay was a pleasant one. The City of Alexandria fire code permits 23 guests total in our pool (whether frolicking in the pool or sitting and resting), and as you stated, for the most part, it is sufficient. Although I... Great location, across from the Metro and at the end of King Street but one received what was paid for at the Manager's reception and breakfast - free hence lacking quality. Not a fan of eating with plasticware or drinking out of cheap foam cups, therefore in addition to the lack of choices at Breakfast please don't advertise the breakfast... More
