Our family travels to DC extensively and we have stayed at the Embassy Suites Old Town Alexandria twice in recent years, most recently over Memorial Day weekend 2013. Great location. Rooms were ok. But the bathrooms were in need of serious repair and renovation. VERY low toilets, shower faucet coming out of wall, grout needed replacing, wood rotting around sink and the new towels NEVER seemed dry. Always felt damp and most of them were old with yellowish stains on them.

This hotel is very clean and conveniently located near transportation and Old Town. The free trolley is handy especially since parking is very expensive and not worth renting a car. Manager's reception is OK but could be improved but breakfast is very good.

We stayed at this facility May 30-June 2nd, for a sightseeing trip to D.C. First and foremost, the staff was EXCELLENT. Very pleasant and helpful - everyone. The staff at the front desk, cleaning staff, and bar tenders were incredible helpful, considerate, and polite. I would most certainly stay there again. The room was clean and quiet. I stayed in a suite on the top floor. My trip was both business and personal.

Parking was $26 per 24 hrs in a poorly signed complicated garage. Definitely the biggest drawback to an otherwise pleasant visit. Among the big pluses were the friendly staff, custom,free breakfast and happy hour. Embassy Suites always has a nice design and layout. We were traveling with three small children (including a baby). The ample size of the double bed suites suited the needs of our family quite comfortably. The grade-school aged children loved the courtyard view from the balcony outside our suite.
