We wanted to stay within walking distance of King Street and all the wonderful things to see in Old Town Alexandria and this was a perfect location. The house is historic in itself and the hosts, Dorothy and Chet, are lovely, well traveled, thoughtful people that make you feel at home. The continental breakfast had everything you could want including... More

We had a great stay at this fabulous home of Dorothy and Chet. Quintessential Southern charm and graciousness. Wonderful setting, breakfast and hospitality. Truly lovely. Although billed as a bed and breakfast, we felt more like house guests. Highly recommend

My husband and I stayed here in 2012. We absolutly loved it! It is a beautiful house, with a colonial syle and big comfortable rooms. We felt at home! The owners are also very friendly and helped us get around in Alexandria. Highly recommended!

Following an intense (9 cities, 42 buildings in 3 weeks) architectural tour of the US, I met my wife in New York for a more leisurely look at Philadelphia, Washington DC and Charlottesville, before returning to New Zealand. A NZ friend who lives in Virginia suggested the Peake-Fairfax House - a relief as I had struggled to find a suitable... More

My husband had a conference across the river and we didn't want to stay in the hotel of the conference so we chose Peake-Fairfax House based on the previous reviews. It is a wonderful house, full of period pieces and art. The breakfast was wonderful: variety of cold cereals, yogurt with fresh berries, hard boiled eggs, variety of breads and... More

My wife and I have been staying in Bed and Breakfasts across Europe and North America for over twenty years. Our recent two night stay at the Peake-Fairfax House was a truly exceptional experience for us. A lovely home, delicious breakfasts and, most of all, charming, gracious and extremely helpful hosts. Dorothy and Chet could not have been more hospitable.... More

We recently stayed at the Peake-Fairfax House, and we truly had a wonderful time! Being from Texas, I read all the reviews to find a place to book for our visit, and I can honestly say that all the wonderful things written in the previous reviews are all true. Chet and Dorothy make you feel right at home, like you're... More

The Peake was a pleasant experience. Only one block from the bustling King Street, home of excellent shops and restaurants, but the house is surprisingly quiet. Probably the solid construction of the home. They certain don't make homes like the Peake anymore. Which is one of many reasons I prefer a B&B over a hotel. Quiet. No noisy neighbors making... More

Two wonderful nights, engaging conversations and excellent dining recommendations highlight our stay at the Peake-Fairfax House in Alexandria. The home is exceptionally well appointed, and breakfast included my favorite foods for that meal (Greek yogurt, seasonal fresh fruit, and many choices of organic breads). I sincerely hope we will have an excuse to return in the near future. Be certain... More
