We began our 6 week stay in the USA in this wonderful home. Not just a B&B, but you are in Dorothy & Chet's HOME and is it ever beautiful! Painstakingly restored and artfully decorated in period glory, it is a real privilege to spend a week here --which is what we did. Stayed in a beautiful bedroom on an... More

We prefer stating in Bed and Breakfasts whenever possible and the PeakeFairfax home was an outstanding choice. Dot and Chet are wonderful and interesting hosts. The home contains numerous significant pieces of art, rugs and furniture. Our third floor suite was elegant and clean. We hope to return next year. Recommended.

Peak-Fairfax House Bed and Breakfast is wonderful! Gorgeous Federal home of generous proportions, full of period antiques and much charm. Location is central in Old Town. Dorothy and Chet are fun, attentive innkeepers who provide a great breakfast and insight into local restaurants and attractions. We look forward very much to future stays with them at Peak-Fairfax. Read no further if you are unable to climb three flights of stairs with liggage. For those who can two beautiful rooms await. We stayed in the smaller room with queen bed and bath outside the door. Excellent mattresses and good lighting for those of us that still read by lamp light. Very quiet for being in the center of... More

Don't waste your money sending a deposit. They do not have credit card facilities. And don't seem to be to fussed to honour bookings for some reason. Sending a bank draught only to have it returned with no reasonable explanation is very expensive. We have travelled extensively and this is the first time we have had this happen. Live and... More

Walking into the Peake-Fairfax House is like taking a step back in time---it is filled with antiques and beautiful furnishings and the breakfast setting is reminiscent of old fashion charm. We stayed in the Poetry Suite which was lovely, but it was a little warm and the bath is down the hall and not as private as we were led... More

My wife and I were visiting Alexandria for the second time. We were there to see our son in law graduate from George Mason Law School. The last time we visited Alexandria we stayed at a hotel. Never again. The Peake-Fairfax House B&B was excellent. Dorothy was a wealth of information: places to visit, restaurants, etc. The B&B is a... More

We went to DC for my niece's graduation and hotels were so expensive, so we decided to look elsewhere. Peake-Fairfax in Old Town Alexandria was the perfect place to stay and we will return. The facility is great - a restored historic home, it is furnished beautifully by Dorothy who is a former fine art dealer and has antiques and... More

Charm and warmth - a lovely home. Dorothy helped to make our stay in Alexandria so very memorable. This classic, antique house is in the midst of everything happening downtown. Breakfast was more than adequate and sustained us through our walking tours - a perfect home away from home!

This is a wonderful B&B made even better by the interesting and gracious hosts, Dorothy and Chet. The 1816 Peake-Fairfax House is perfectly located in historic Alexandria, within easy walking distance of the river front, King Street, Old Town and the area's many charming old homes. Dorothy and Chet have done a meticulous job of restoration, utilizing much of the... More
