My husband brought me here to celebrate my birthday and to relax after hosting my family for Thanksgiving. It was the perfect getaway! Kim greeted us and made us feel welcome from the beginning with her warm personality, great original appetizers, wonderful custom made breakfasts and my own personal birthday cake. When we headed out on our first night to... More

My wife, Rebecca, and I made a whirlwind tour of Virginia over the week of Halloween, and our first stop was at the Copper Lantern Inn in Abingdon, VA. I had read several reviews, on this site, and decided I had to stay in this place. When I called Betty to check into reservations on the weekend, she called back... More

We traveled from Colorado to join family members in Abingdon. The Copper Lantern Inn was our home base for a 5-day stay in Abingdon. The Inn's central location was perfect for hiking, shopping, dining....Our hostess, Kim, provided delicious breakfasts, comfortable sleeping accomodations, 5 o'clock appetizers and wine...and apple pie and banana bread for "snacks." It was a delightful meeting place... More

We had one day and evening to get away to Abingdon and enjoy the Creeper the Barter and the Tavern, and were blessed to be directed to the Copper Lantern Inn by Trip Advisor. We were welcomed by Kim the owner, and found her to be gracious, warm and friendly. Charming and clean bedroom, delicious food, complimentary wine and attention to... More

We stayed two nights at the Copper Lantern Inn while hiking in the Grayson Highlands. This is an excellent property located within easy walking distance of great dining and the Barter Theater in downtown Abingdon. Our room was very comfortable, and we especially enjoyed sitting on the spacious front patio. But what really set this property above the rest was... More

Great small inn and were we ever spoiled! Our innkeeper, Kim is a true professional while making us feel like forever friends. Breakfast was delicious and cocktail hour treats are legend. Our bed was liking sleeping on/in a cloud...fabulous! We will return to enjoy the comforts of a big city hotel while being able to walk to everything...plays, museums and... More

My husband and I were headed to KY to visit my mom's grave (she just recently passed away) and to attend family get together. Since we had to stay at least a couple hours away, I chose to stay in Abingdon, as it seemed a very interesting historical town. As fate would have it, everything was booked except for a... More

My wife and I were greatly impressed by the Copper Lantern Inn in Abingdon, VA and can't stop talking about it to our friends & relatives. We selected the Copper Lantern as a place to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and despite the fact it took place an extremely busy travel weekend, we could not have had a better experience and... We've been to a lot of B & B's and The Copper Lantern is definitely in the top tier. The innkeepers were the most gracious and friendly hosts imaginable and they were the very model of Southern hospitality. Every inch of their home is beautiful and the breakfast, evening wine with snack and late night dessert were all scrumptious. The... More

Our 3-night stay at the Copper Lantern Inn was fabulous. Kimberly and Betty Ann Akers were gracious hosts with impeccable attention to detail. They put together a romantic weekend get-away for me and my husband by arranging dinner reservations and recommending local activities including the Virginia Creeper Trail, the Barter Theatre, White’s Mill and Heartwood. We stayed in the gorgeous... More
