Imagine sitting on the deck looking right out at the river, listening to the birds sing. That's how it is at the River Garden B&B. The downstairs rooms have a private entrance from the deck and the deck has plenty of chairs for relaxing and river-watching. Paula's breakfast is scrumptious! Ham and egg cups, hash brown potatoes of the homemade... More

We came to Abingdon to ride the Virginia Creeper Trail and visit the Barter Theater. Both were great, but the River Garden was the highlight of the trip. Heck, it's worth the price of the room just to eat the breakfasts. One day was a delicious frittata; the other was scrumptious ham and eggs. Not to mention hash brown potatoes,... More

Stayed for four nights and enjoyed every minute. Paula an Scott were very welcoming and friendly. The breakfasts were delicious and there's always some wonderful baked goods to enjoy in the afternoon. We stayed in the Trail Rider room which was basic but very comfortable and the porch was wonderful being right on the river, very relaxing. They also took... More

I have nothing negative to say about our 2 day stay in the Barter Room. Its quiet, well-appointed, & comfortable. Breakfast is a relaxed and delicious gourmet meal. The porch overlooking the stream is just outside the door making this a most peaceful & lovely retreat. The innkeepers are friendly and accommodating. Paula makes yummy homemade snacks available. I highly... More

Can't beat this B & B for comfort, setting, and excellent food. Our group of 6 relatives enjoyed the comfort, the lovely setting and the gourmet breakfasts. Paul and Scott are the perfect host and hostess. Didn't want to leave!!!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room had a deck with comfortable chairs right beside the river where we enjoyed our books. The food was divine, and Paula was a fantastic hostess. The rates were very reasonable.

This was our first stay at a b & b, and it couldn't have been better! Paula is such an attentive hostess, the accommodations were clean and inviting, and the setting is idyllic. Breakfast was delicious - as my husband likes to call it, "a bowl of apple-cinnamon deliciousness." We look forward to returning to River Garden

We had a great stay at the River Garden B&B. It was very clean, calming, and peaceful on the banks of the Holston River. We had a deck overlooking the river and was so peaceful just listening to the river flow by. There is a hot tub on the bottom deck that we thoroughly enjoyed in the evening after dark.... More

This B&B is about 15 minutes outside of charming Abingdon which may be a drawback to some. For us it was a real find- close enough to Abingdon but quiet and peaceful. Each room has windows and a deck allowing a view of the North fork of the Holston River 50 feet below. We slept with the calming meditative sounds... More
