Gorgeous old timey hotel, cows in the field outside, dark skies, saw the space station pass over and waved, traffic from distant interstate softened into melody, I sat outside in the porch chair, drank wine, had good wifi, another guest was running his dog and stopped by to chat. Lovely evening. Room was dated and I loved in. In the... More

This motel is about 1/2 the price of other nearby chain hotels. The rooms are huge, the beds are small, the frills are nonexistent, they take pets, kids stay free, it's right off 81. Fridge, microwave. Old school tube style TV with good cable. Free wifi. It was clean. The woman that checked me in was friendly. We had no... More

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights on a trip through the area. The price was very good and I figured we could try it out. It is an older type outside rooms hotel, located in a very convenient area close to the interstate. Other reviewers had mentioned that the rooms were very bare bones, so I was... More

Decent hotel. Charged me an extra $10 when I checked in because I didn't include in my online reservation that I would have our 11 year old daughter with us. We didn't check in until after midnight and made it known that we'd be checking out by 8 a.m. That didn't matter, still $10 more. Kind of cheap. The room... More

Nice size rooms that are in need of updating. Nice view, if the sullen guy at the desk, who seems to live there at the motel, will give you a room on the long side of the L-shaped motel. The short side of the "L" faces the noisy main street and has a view of a half dozen junked 18... More

We stopped here based upon reviews and it was everything we expected. Simple, very clean, and quiet. We used to always stay in motels like this, so it was a nice change from the hotel chains. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because I am not sure why they advertise a continental breakfast. It was basically... More

In the area for Virginia Creeper Trail, picked motel partially because of Trip Advisor reviews and the fact the other hotels got lousy reviews. Hotel is clean, well located , but barebones. No hair dryer, no shampoo . Basically coffee only for breakfast . Some restaurants in area and gas.

After reading all the reviews for this place, it did not disappoint. The rooms were quiet, clean, comfortable and roomy. The management and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We wanted a simple place close to the Bristol Rhythm and Roots Festival as well as easy access to some of the best motorcycle roads in the Southeast. Hwy 58, Rt... More

We choose Alpine because of price and reviews and it was what we expected. Nice, clean, large rooms, bare bones as far as extras but we knew that going in. It was nice to drive up to the room, unload our bikes with plenty of space in our room to put our bikes inside. After biking the creeper trail it... More

This was an inexpensive option that we chose instead of camping in the rain. The hotel is located about 15 miles from Damascus. We were pleasantly surprised at the view and the well kept lawn that surrounded the hotel. When the weather cleared for a bit we were able to sit in the chairs they provided outside our room and...
