The motel is an older place but its nice. But just beware of this. I stayed there in September 2011 and again in Jan. 2012. Even if you call to make a reservation they don't turn on the A/C or heat ahead of time to make your room comfortable. The bathrooms have no ventilation at all so you have to... More

This place is great! The room is clean and spacious. The rates are reasonable. It even has chairs outside. You are able to sit outside and watch the sunrise over the mountains! More

I stayed at the Alpine Motel during a trip to Abingdon to see a play at the Barter Theater. The motel is a 1950's style brick one story motel with lawn chairs outside the rooms and a beautiful view of the mountains. The motel felt secluded even though it was near the highway. The room was very large and included... More

After a poor experience at the Days Inn up the street, I decided to go with what had been my original plan and stay at the Alpine. We were very pleasantly surprised at how accommodating they were at 10 pm. This place had to have been built in the 50's but has obviously been well maintained. Marking lot was freshly... More

Motel is a 50's type strip motel....bottle opener still on the bathroom wall. Large room. Missed the panoramic mountain view described by a previous reviewer. Four of the six lightbulbs above the sink were either burned out or missing. Musty. Desk clerk not overly accommodating. Best feature was the low price....$59.00/night. Easy exit to highway. Quiet. We had a wedding to attend and stayed here. It has a 1950's vintage feel but is perfectly maintained and updated- new carpeting, wifi, very clean plus a little fridge and micro wave in each room. It is owned by a nice family and is a great place to stay. More

We attended a hiking convention over the 4th and found the Alpine Motel exceeded our expectations for a budget motel. Some reviews called this a roadside motel, which is true of the genre but it was quietly tucked off the highway up a hill with a beautiful mountain view.. Accessible to everything - town, restaurants, interstate. The best part (and... More

The rooms were clean and nice. Everything was totally fine here. Can't beat the value if you need a place to stay and nothing more stop here. Great view as well. Bellas pizza joint next-door was pretty good but nothing special. More

I have family in Abingdon and am originally from there and hate to think that I wasted many years staying at overpriced hotels. All though it is an older hotel it is extremely clean and the views are why I love Abingdon so much. There are chairs outside of each room to enjoy the landscape and it is cheap and... More

Drove from Atlanta and stayed here on our way to Mt Rogers National Recreation Area for a few days of backpacking. Rooms were clean and spacious. Very basic (be sure to bring your own toiletries and blow dryer) but we were very happy for $50/night. We stayed there twice during our trip. Close to restaurants. Hotel staff is quite friendly....
