My first time visiting and for the price, I'm not sure I will be eager to go back. It is weird how some reviews claim that Lisa & Al were warm and cordial and others had the opposite opinion. Unfortunately we had the later. Emails were exchanged that I would be arriving late so I was surprised to get a... More

The Hill Farm Inn served our family well as a base for a long weekend in Southwestern Vermont recently. The Good: - Kids loved staying on a farm. We spent a lot of time with the sheep, goats, Blossom the pig, and the rooster who tended to follow us around the property frequently (We called him "Red" though I am... More

We have returned multiple times to visit this "home away from home" nestled among mountain views that are so breathtaking yet peaceful and comforting to behold. One visits here to experience all this in true old fashioned Vermont style in a farm setting where sheep, goats and chickens roam and a large wraparound porch beckons the guest to stay awhile... My boyfriend and I stayed here in April 2012. The location is very quiet -off of the main road. It's a perfect place for trout fishing as the property lines the battenkill river. The breakfast was good, not spectacular. The room was cute but the bathroom could use an update. It was a good value for the area and only... More

A little worn but clean. Truly a real farm and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is always nice and staff personable. More of a base of operations than a place where I would hang out during the day. lots of great things to do in the area so this is never really an issue. I've stayed several... More

My husband and I had a wonderful weekend here with Lisa and the animals. The room was cosy and comfortable and we had a great time exploring the grounds and reading the books. We highly recommend Hill Farm Inn and hope everyone has the great moment of discovery that we did!!! We will be back, and we hope to meet... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend last August for a wedding in the area. Lisa and Al were wonderful hosts, making sure that everything was all set for our late arrival. We stayed in the Butternut cabin, which was perfect. The bed was comfortable, and the windows allowed the cool night air to move easily through the... More

My fiancé and I spent three nights over a long weekend in March at The Hill Farm Inn. We are from Manhattan and were really looking for a quiet and relaxed getaway. We didn't want to stay at a hotel, where we could feel like we were anywhere. We wanted an authentic Vermont vacation. This is the most lovely inn.... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights over Thanksgiving weekend, and had a great stay. The property is beautifully rustic, with nice, long walking paths. Additionally, we had fun visiting with the sheep, goats, chickens and pot-bellied pigs at the barn. Food was marvelous, and having a working fireplace in the room was an extra bonus.

My wife and I spent our honeymoon at Hill Farm Inn 5 years ago and vowed we'd be back for our 5 year anniversay. This last time as with our first was wonderful. We stayed in the same suite (Obediah Suite) and the service and food was just as great as the last time we were here. Al and Lisa... More
