Our family really enjoyed Michael and Kevin's hospitality at their historic and cozy inn. Michael even played the piano on Saturday night, which added to the charm. The common room had many family games, which we enjoyed in front of the fireplace, during a very cold afternoon. Breakfasts served in their rustic dining room, were delicious and portions were plentiful.... More

I really want to give this place a great review because the inn keepers are so nice but it really didn't reach above average as far as an Inn. I went in the winter so we weren't able to use the property but I could see where across the way would be beautiful in the warmer months. The inn keepers... More

My partner and I had the pleasure of staying here in the early summer of 2013. We loved it so much we vowed to come back this winter. If anything our second stay was even better than the first - the coziness, comfort and charm of the inn was enhanced by the warming firelight and beautiful winter vistas from each... More

If you are looking for the quintessential Vermont Inn with charming Innkeepers and breathtaking views then this is where you'll want to stay. This Inn is 250 years old, and you can smell the history upon entering the front door. You will be greeted by two of the nicest innkeepers -- Michael & Kevin. They will make your stay welcoming,... My husband and I stayed here for one night on a three day foliage trip to Vermont. Abigail's Suite was very comfortable and it is convenient having the extra bedroom if you need that. Shower was small but worked fine. Kevin was very welcoming and breakfast was tasty. The only drawback to the room is that you are on a... More

Great place with loads of character and style. Michael and Kevin were great hosts and served a tasty breakfast. The room was quirky and very tastefully done. The bed was super comfy and sheets and linen were top quality.

This B&B certainly provides a feeling that you are in a bit of history. Good breakfasts and friendly hosts. The rooms are OK. Our Ira Allen suite wasn't what I expected, but it worked out OK. Nice grounds and convenient to many attractions. Be sure to ask for the passes to Hildene if you plan to visit.

We stayed at the Ira Allen for three nights of our month long New England tour and was probably our favourite accommodation of the holiday. It's a quirky old house built in 1779 with lots of history and a few sloping floors! We booked late and had to swap rooms during our stay but both rooms we stayed in were... More

We stayed at the historical Ira Allen House last week in Arlington, VT. The proprietors, Kevin & Mike, were gracious hosts and made our stay so comfortable and educational being that this Inn is 235 years old! Beautiful front yard across the road complete with a tree swing, canoe & hammocks. The Battenkill River flows by it. Kevin & Mike... More

My husband and I stayed at the Ira Allen House in late September. The Ira Allen is perhaps the best B&B we have ever visited. Anyone with an interest in history will love this house: we felt like we were walking through history as we explored the inn and the beautiful grounds. The inn was the home of Ira Allen,... More
