This was my first stay at Alta Peruvian and it certainly will not be my last. I came across the resort via a Google search and the reason that I chose Alta was that 1.) They boast the largest snowfall in the region and 2.) No snowboarders means that you can enjoy pure and simple powder skiing to its fullest.... More

My family and I live a short 15 miles from the lodge and we had the best time. Every need was taken care of. There was some confusion on which rooms we selected and the staff was very helpful to correct it and give us the correct room and not charging us extra. The food was great, my kids had... More

Just returned from a ski trip to Alta, staying at the Peruvian. It was just like coming home. My cousin and I began visiting the Peruvian about 18 years ago, but, due to some health reasons, we hadn't been there in about 7 years. It was just wonderful being there. They have done a wonderful job of keeping everything in... More

I've been a repeat client for over 20 years and continue to find the familiar ambiance, even as the lodge makes constant improvements. The staff is low key, yet attentive and professional...but it is really all about the snow!

Our goal was to stay at the base of Alta. There are limited options for this. Supply and demand dictates that the pricing will be high relative to some other options. Based on friend recommendations we got pricing at The Rustler and The Peruvian. The Rustler is more upscale in terms of facility (quite a bit) and food (a little)... More

My Experience at the Alta Peruvian. I find the high ratings very misleading. My experience is that the Alta Peruvian is an overpriced dump of a hostel. They are charging 4 star hotel price for a 2 star hostel. My dorm room was $220 with food. At best the value of the lodge is $100 inclusive of food. The room... More

Go to the Peruvian if you are a skier. It is next to Alta, which is for skiers only. It s not glamorous or glitzy. The rooms are comfortable, but not fancy, no phones or big screen TV. There is one downstairs in the common area. There is a bar, rustic by some standards, but friendly skier oriented. It where... More

I just returned from a first time visit to Alta and the Peruvian. I joined a group of guys who have made an annual trip to both for many years running. The lodge is all about skiing just like the mountain it is named after. The accommodations are comfortable but not fancy although the pool and hot tub are well... More

Has to be the best value for the best skiing just about anywhere. My 22nd straight year. We love this place. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. A great social scene. A great hot tub with super views.

Unfortunately it wasn't a typical Utah ski trip in terms of snow, and we asked the Peruvian staff to help to which they said they all were doing snow dances, so what more could you ask? The Peruvian is definitely my kind of place to stay, just skiing and friendly, helpful staff and other passionate skiers. All this combined with... More
