I stayed that the GMD twice this season... and Alta being my favorite place on earth since 1991 its hard not to love everything that is 'Alta'... GMD - great hotel staff, Roni at the Bar is awesome and so is Sarah (although she has to warm up to you - smile Sarah!). GHD is all about location... its ground... More

I've stayed at Goldminer's many times and have never been disappointed. Their customer service is top notch, and they are 50 steps from the Collins chairlift. The Food is good, and if you are by yourself, you can eat dinner at the Community Table, where it's fun to meet others. It's kind of rustic, but in a good way, as... More

My Fiancée and I spent four nights at Goldminer's recently. The refreshed room as a real upgrade. The staff is friendly and eager to please, The Deep Powder House ski shop directly off the lobby, though small, is well equipped with a knowledgeable staff.. The food is adequate but not great and I recommend they bring back the omelet station... More

I heard this was like an upscale Y, and it is somewhat, but also perfect because of it. YOu can't get any closer to the main Alta lifts. The food is amazing - breakfast buffet with a la carte options, GMD bar, dinner with specials INCLUDED in the rate. In terms of value it was pretty amazing. I went on... More

Grab a great breakfast and set your dinner plans. Both included in your room rate. Literally put your boots on in your room, take the elevator down to your locker to grab your skis and within a few minutes, you'll be at the Collins lift. Ski all day, but definitely take a lunch break and grab a pizza from the... More

First time here after hearing so much about GMD from others. Was everything we hoped for and more. Very clean, warm. and comfortable. My only complaint would be the lighting in the bathroom and the fan that does not shut off. But really, not that big a deal. Enjoyed the restaurant and all of the employees were extremely friendly. It... More

GMD provides the only ski-in-ski out accommodations at Alta ski resort. There is not other lodge that comes as close to the Collin's lift (the main lift on the mountain). Your nightly rate includes, a buffet/a-la-carte breakfast which is delicious AND a gourmet dinner with nightly specials. Apre-ski includes yummy offerings that are complimentary from 4-5 pm daily. A terrific... More

We just had pizza and beers. Pizza is fabulous. The Views are amazing. The Service excellent. I have not stayed in the rooms - they Appear to be a little dated. Excellent stop for lunch or après on the mountain. Great spot!

We've been coming to Alta and staying at "GMD" for the past few years. While we certainly appreciate true "5 star" accommodations in certain settings, we are always comfortable and happy at Goldminer's, even though we sometimes describe it to friends, somewhat tongue-in-cheek, as a "high-end Y". What makes it right for us? A quick list in no particular order:... More

After getting a snow alert by email on Monday morning I picked up the phone to grab a room before the hotel got booked up. I called the desk and they remembered me off the top the manager's head, not by computer. After protecting us on a nice room we arrived late that night and were greeted by the night... More
