I have been skiing Atla (and Snowbird) since 1980. I have stayed at Goldminer's Daughter 6 or 7 times over the past 4 years. Alta consistently serves up some of the best lift serviced powder in the world. When I go there with my friends or with my sons, we go for the snow and the skiing. GMD offers what... more

Went for a 4 day ski vacation with my 24 year old daughter. First time in Alta. After extensive hours comparing places to stay, I picked GD. Turns out it was an excellent choice. Although it isn't too attractive on the outside, it was nice enough inside and had very friendly staff. Our room was adequate, what one would expect... more

The review title is the official mantra of the ski area. Scanning the harsher reviews of all slopeside accomodation at Alta, it's worth repeating. Alta revels in the rough hewn goodness of retro! No snow boarders, not much grooming, hike to much of the best runs, raw natural old time skiing! They get away with this (to the delight of... more

My friend and i found ourselves caught in a bad situation and found a room at Goldminer's Daughter at 4 am. The next morning we were greeted by the owner, Ross, telling us that we weasled a lower price from the receptionist and that we should never step foot in his hotel again. After that greeting...gladly. The place is overproced... more

I spent a week at Alta in March which was fantastic, once again. Each year we stay at the Goldminer's Daughter Lodge, which has been improving every year that we stay. It really feels as though we are returning home each year which is why we love it. The staff are incredibly friendly, the food - (breakfast and dinner are... more

We visited Alta Ski Resort for Spring Break (3/6-3/10). We stayed at the Goldminer's Daughter at the base of the Collins lift. The hotel is extremely overpriced for the caliber of accommodation. We paid $350/nt. (incl. b&d) for a room which was equivalent to a Motel 6. Some have claimed this to be comfy, but it's no where on par... more

Having stayed at the Peruvian and Snowpine in the past, this was our first experience at Goldminer's. Overall, it was great. The major plusses are the generous sized rooms with plenty of space to hang and store gear, the easy easy access to the lifts, and the very friendly attitude of management. And, oh yes, enough room lamps to make... more

We had a fantastic time staying at the Goldminer's Daughter Lodge. I couldn't believe how great the skiing was and how close the lift was to the lodge! The rooms are comfortable, the food is great, massages are excellent, and everyone is so friendly. I am looking forward to returning this year to ride the new Collins lift. It was... more

I have been staying at the Goldminer's Daughter for 36 years--that should be destimony enough. I have seen lots of changes-- in skiing, at Alta, at the lodge. It is not luxurious, but it is a great lodge with comfortable rooms, good food and cold beer. AND...you ski in and out. more
