The Alta Lodge is the standard by which all ski lodges should be measured. First, location on the hill - check. Ski to the lifts. Second, friendly, low key, rustic elegance, fireplace in main lounge - check. The nicest people on the mountain work at the Alta Lodge. Third, food - double check. The best dining room on the hill,... More

Sadly we are flying back to GA tomorrow after a 5 nite stay. Never again will we stay for such a short amount of time. We already booked the same room for next year (full week). Who should vacation at the Alta Lodge: Families who love skiing; People who enjoy meeting interesting people; People who love great food and hate... More

Myself, my wife and our 12 year daughter just returned from our first stay at the Alta Lodge and experience of the Alta ski area. We stayed in a very functional room with a queen bed and double bed which served our needs very well. We stayed four nights but wished we could have stayed more!! We enjoyed the breakfast... More

I stayed with my 18 year old son and his friend for their Spring break. I had a nice large room with 2 double beds in the new wing, they had a small room with twin beds in the old wing. Their room was very similar to a college dorm room and was fine for them. Mine was spacious and... More

I stayed with my 5 and 9 year old boys. They opened the kids club just for the 5 year old which made my life easy (rustler lodge did not have their kids club open in mid January)! It is this attitude to service that made the trip easy. I was continually impressed by how friendly the staff were Food... More

I stayed here for 4 nights. The location is fantastic but for the price I'm surprised that the service and food were average and the room was small. The staff does not go out of their way for the guests. The Lodge also seems dated.

Skiing is not an inexpensive sport unless you are lucky enough to live below Little Cottonwood Canyon. For those that fly to ski areas there are a host of expenses and gratuitous hands extended for your cash dollars. The Alta Lodge is by no means bargain basement but falls into a category of warmth, comfort, and value. Its' close location... More

Alta is not for everyone, and neither is the Alta Lodge! If you want to travell with only one suit case, your ski gear, and are not preoccupied with the apres ski attire and show off then this peace of heaven on earth might just appeal to you. Friendly and engaging staff catter to your every need in the most... More

I am a regular at Alta Lodge and a season pass holder at Alta; I would stay nowhere else. Nor would any of the other many, many repeat customers to the Lodge. The lodge is one of the few that fosters a convivial lodge atmosphere -- encouraging guests to join others at breakfast and dinner. And what a range of... More

We stayed in two interconnected rooms as we travelled with 3 children (6, 6 and 8 yrs old). Given the high price tag we paid for every day we were quite disappointed by the size and quality of the rooms. Very basic and dated. The highlight of the stay was the restaurant; breakfast was great and the daily dinner menu... More
