I was tough to decide between rating this a 3 or 4. I ultimately decided to go with a 4 due to the great service and staff, but some of the problems we ran into do cause concern. First, I reserved the room online and the online description for an executive suite clearly states that executive suites include jetted tubs.... More

Thank you for your feedback. I apologize that you expereienced some issues during your recent stay with us. I'm glad the hotel team was able to accommodate moving you to a different room. The hotel's historic rooms are all very unique with quite different attributes - contributing to the distinctive dedor and ambiance of the hotel. The hotel experienced no... More

Important point to remember about the Driskill. They have a 48 hour cancellation policy. Not 45 hours; 48. If your plans change abruptly and you have to cancel, and you do so 45 hours ahead of time, you'll be charged 100% of your reservation cost. Not a flat fee to cover their costs, but 100% of your room cost. You... More

There is nothing negative to say about our stay at the The Driskill. The staff was amazing, the food was amazing, the room was amazing! We made a reservation for a Signature room and when the staff found out we recently had a baby, they upgraded us to an Executive Suite. I highly suggest the Brazos Suite! Beautiful suite with... I loved this hotel, from top to bottom. Now, I am partial to historic properties, so I'm a bit biased, but this had it all. An absolutely gorgeous bar - straight out of the old west, but with the all the modern comforts of a bar. Very comfortable guest rooms - quiet, comfy bed, good water pressure in the shower,... More

We loved our stay at the Driskill from the minute I made the reservations months in advance to the minute we departed. Reservation agent was extremely helpful and honest when I asked for a room not facing 6th Street in order to avoid the night noise. They not only promised over the phone but repeated my request to me verbally... More

We've been to Austin many times. This was the first time we were able to stay at the Driskill. Highly recommended. Cannot beat the location. The historic nature of the building. Service, decor, etc. are all top notch. Restaurants are all fantastic and worth trying. Lots of activity in and around the hotel. Check it out....you'll be glad you did!!

Loved the hotel's location, warm welcome from the staff and the amazing public spaces. When it came to the bottom line though, providing a good night's rest, the Driskill came up short. One of the forms that you sign upon checking in is an understanding that the Driskill set out to provide a quiet and peaceful environments for their overnight... More

Thank you for your posting. As an downtown hotel, exterior noise can sometimes be an issue. In an effort to mitigate ocasional "street noise", the hotel has been installing secondary windows for optimal insulation. Since the hotel is so in demand, this process has been protracted so as not to impact our hotel guests with installation efforts. I apologize that... More

Firstly. - the location is first rate, close to many live music venue sites along 6th, though maybe a bit too close on Saturday night before thanksgiving. Austin is a concentrated town centre, so frankly there are cheaper options if you are not stopping there for the ambience of the Driskill. Really, the main entertainment area of Austin, bordered by... More

A grand hotel with a grand tradition, complete staff, and notable facilities. Much elegant decor, impressive. As central to Austin as it gets, with two great restaurants being a real plus. It took a certain amount of persistence to obtain reservations in the Bakery & Cafe (i.e., for its fine breakfasts and luncheon fare). The Grill is a "fine dining"... More

Overall, it was a lovely stay. The hotel itself is beautiful, and my room was a good size and well furnished. Unfortunately, it was at the back of the hotel, which meant I was awakened by delivery trucks each morning at 7:00. I suppose the alternative might've been to be over 6th Street, which would have been louder, so I'll... More
