We consider ourselves very hotel picky & my husband & I were blown away with our standard room in the historical section of this hotel. It had ridiculously high ceilings, a dark, romantic atmosphere, the a/c cranked cold & there were crisp, clean immaculate linens on bedding. Bathroom had top notch finishes & equally inviting. Would stay there again in... More

The hotel is located in the heart of downtown and within walking distance to the nightlife. There were great restaurants and markets around that I was able to walk to as well. The interior of the hotel feels like an old haunted house. It's very clean and decorated nicely but it's dark and difficult to navigate with all the stairs,... More

The room was decorated nice.we stayed in the yellow rose suit. But the whole floor smelt like mildew or pee.We got in the room and the guy who brought up our luggage we asked him to get us ice and he claimed that he didn't know wher our ice bucket was..so we found it and went to get the ice... We stayed at the Driskill in mid June; the trip was booked by our business co-ordinator. While the archeticture was lovely, you can tell the hotel was built in the 1800's. Our room had no storage for our clothes outside of the closet (which was also small). No dressers whatsoever! There was some type of small black debris all over... More

I won a five night stay at the Driskill in Austin TX. Glad we used our airline points to go. Austin is an awesome town. And the hotel is awesome. It is so nice to stay in a place that is not a cookie cutter room (i.e. Hampton, Hilton, Marriott, etc). It was our anniversary and they could not have... More

A truly wonderful experience. The architecture of the hotel surrounded us with feeling of security and well being. The staff were friendly and professional , a totally happy experience. The hotel was the center of our week-end get away. We were able to walk to lots of places of interest,

This hotel did not disappoint. It lived up to everything I've ever heard or read about the hotel. The staff from the valet to the front desk and beyond could not have been nicer. Our room was wonderful with a fantastic view. While it is a bit pricey, as I said, the hotel did not fail to deliver. It is... More

Sure, there are newer, swankier hotels - but none provides the experience of 'time-travel' derived from the ambience of the old Driskill. In earlier days it set the standard for elegance and understated class was the style. Historical figures, entertainers and politicians of every stripe have met, dined, done business and enjoyed the uniquely preserved atmosphere for many decades. I... More

Loved the charm and service. Close to the convention center. The room was clean and the bathroom amenities were high quality. The only small complaint is there is a construction site 1 block over and you can hear the noise at 7:00am but its not terrible.

This past weekend I brought my (older...to avoid using the e word) mother to visit my son in Austin!...having only three short nights I wanted to find someplace close to him in the downtown area as well as memorable and extra special for our family gathering. Although The Driskill was at the very top of our budget I chose it... More
