I returned from a six month tour in the Middle East so I wanted to do something special. The Driskill is exactly that. We totally enjoyed the restaurant and the room was delightful. The staff was very professional and kind. Had a wonderful massage. We still talk about it after more than a year. Want to do a weekend get-a-way?... more

easy to find; great location within walking distance of the capital, restaurants, and bars. Best part...the lobby/bar area was welcoming and comfortable, and the bartender Buzz was wonderfully entertaining and made a great drink! Also...we checked in with the valet to park the car (26.00, added to the bill)...we walked in; checked in, went to the room, and within 1... more

I was on a trip with friends visiting Austin, and San Antonio. I booked the trip through an online travel site and found a great summer discounted rate for the one night I would be spending in Austin with friends. I booked without hesitation the day before arrival and could not wait to stay and experience Austin and its infamous... more

The Driskill is in a great location for walking around downtown Austin, from the Capitol to the bridge to see the bats fly at night-you only have to walk 10 -15 minutes. There are many great restaurants located nearby and of course the revelry of 6th street is right outside. I found the lobby to be stunning and the bar... more

Was here for three nights. Location is excellent for downtown entertainment. Hotel consists of an old building and an older building in a historical sense. Make no mistake, the property is as up to date and clean as it could be. On check in (early in the day) I was shown to a room in the class I reserved but... more

The lobby, bar and restaurant are all five stars, 5/5. A must see if coming to Austin. However the rooms were super pricey and very small. Our original reservation was for one of the smaller rooms (forgot the name). However after seeing the bed / room we had to upgrade. I'm 6'4" and the bed was just way to small... more

Wonderful public spaces and rooms. Recommend you stay in the tower building. Rooms not huge but you've got everything you could want. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. A great hotel - nothing cookie cutter - If you like something that you don't get in every other chain hotel, this is a good spot. It compares to 4 seasons or ritz... more

A friend and I met in Austin for a long weekend. We both travel a lot and are quite picky but we were amazed with this property. The interior of the hotel is stunning and the staff were fantastic. We loved the beds and liked that there was a separate vanity from the rest of the bathroom. The cafe had... more

The Driskill is a beautiful hotel and situated well for visiting Austin. We booked a regular king room, in the 1930's wing, on the 12th floor. Our package included breakfast vouchers in the cafe and a "welcome drink". Our room was nicely decorated, but small -- its saving grace were the extremely high ceilings, which gave it a more spacious... more

Overall, this hotel was lovely. The staff was available but not intrusive. The room I stayed in (the Curio) was extremely clean and comfortable. I had a corner room so it also had nice light from two windows. The Curio rooms are the smallest at the hotel but I thought it was perfectly comfortable. It would have been fine had... more
