My husband and I chose The Driskill for our anniversary weekend stay. We wanted to stay at a "luxury" hotel and I had heard from several friends that The Driskill was a nice place. First, the positive: the Driskill is in the heart of Downtown Austin, right on 6th Street, and close to most of the interesting things there are... More

If you like historic hotels that have been restored to their original grandeur, then the Driskill is for you! We stayed in a suite which was on the top (5th) floor. The room had a large bed, a sitting area, a Jacuzzi tub, and very large enclosed shower and a balcony off the sitting area. I would definitely consider this... More

Beautiful Hotel! Wish we stayed an extra night so we could explore more of it. Very comfortable bed. I was happy with the room overall. We will stay here again in a more upgraded suite. Room had 20 inch ceilings. Room 428.

Loved this hotel for it's splendour, history and charm. Slightly over zealous on the air conditioning needed a cardigan! We stayed mid week until Saturday morning. The whole ambience switches for the weekend and clearly Austin's sixth street becomes the place to be. Would definitely stay again.

I was booked into this hotel for 6 nights with a number of colleagues for a conference that was happening in Austin. We were booked into this hotel based on a previous stay by some of my colleagues who enjoyed that visit so they booked it again. I have to say, it's a good hotel, but honestly probably wasn't exactly... More

Had to get some documents "authenticated" in Austin, so I decided to stay nearby at the Driskill. Checking in was easy and quick, customer service was excellent and efficient. Hotel style was unique and the ambiance was truly a Texas experience. Can't wait to visit Austin again and we will definitely stay there again.

Okay, checked in and was greeted by someone who was super nice. That's good. Front desk staff: Super. Bag was brought up by the greeter (a little creepy). I travel a lot for business so anyone offering service these days seems a little suspect. The room is MAYBE 200-300 square feet - I cannot imagine sharing. Tiny sink, small bed,... More

Enjoyed my stay. Nice and central so easy to get out & about. Great bed, and comfortable room but... Air conditioning in the room (1101) was excessively noisy, not great in high temperatures and trying to sleep through jet lag Brreakfast is good quality, but limited selection , friendly service but soooo slow. Had to wait 15 mins for juice... More

Hello Sico63, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I'm glad you enjoyed the location and the comforts of the room. However, I am so sorry that your AC unit was not working properly, that definitely does not help when you are trying to adjust to a new time zone. We are currently revitalizing our 1886 cafe and next... More
