I booked a business trip to Austin and was excited to stay at this historic hotel - got a great rate and it's right in the middle of the action downtown. Unfortunately, my experience didn't live up to the hype for a few reasons: 1) I was woken up at 4am on the last morning of my stay when the... More

Nice place, house keeping got gripped at for being slow. Left room for 4 hrs, no house keeping, back 5 minutes, they show up, hey we're leaving in 10, come back then, we left, back 2 hours later, THEY show up 5 minutes after we got back! Other than that, nice place.

The property that is The Driskill really is an experience on its own. The minute you walk in, the high ceilings and ornate, pre-historic decor takes you back to another era. The lounge at the hotel is always buzzing and though it may be hard to find a table, I highly recommend having a cocktail or two there. Saturday mornings,... More

Met a coworker and her husband here for cocktails and food. Great popcorn and great service! We had truffle popcorn and chicken flat bread. My coworker lives in Austin and this was her 1st choice for showing me around. A nice place for couples and business.

I liked my stay here. The building and history are very appealing. The rooms were pretty standard in the tower although others at my meeting reported having amazing room. If I was in Austin I would stay here again. The location is fantastic being right in the area with all the good places to eat.

Walking into the lobby is an experience. It's an architectural gem. Old fashioned but in perfect shape. Check in was a breeze, my room was big, bright and had 18 foot ceilings. The view would have been great if Austin had a skyline worth looking at. It was a cold week and the heater struggled but kept the room warm.... More

I had a meeting this weekend, and the group coordinators booked it at The Driskill. It is an impressive property. Located right off one of the coolest streets in the USA (6th Street), the hotel is a flash from the past. Elegant, old world, and for couples, romantic. The lobby is more like a central hall, much like The Peabody... More

Great service. Nice lounge with live music was a lot of fun. Ok workout room. No pool area. Rooms are great. Not typical. Very comfortable but no way to warm up bathroom. Cold getting out of shower. Lots of character. I would come back here even to grill.

My wife and I live in Australia and have had the privilege of traveling quite a lot over the past ten years or so. All of our travels have been interesting, we have been to see the pyramids in Giza, the pyramids in Yucatan and enjoyed sunny days on the Mediterranean and romantic winter nights at the Ritz in Paris.... We stayed at the Driskill after New Years & we read about the hotel being haunted. On Saturday morning I was trying to turn on the bedroom lamp & it wasn't working so I left it alone. Early Sunday morning, while in a deep sleep I was woken up to a clicking noise over & over. I looked toward the... More

Hello Priscilla A, Greetings from Austin. It sounds like you had quite a time during your visit with us. It's great were able to enjoy the beautiful history of the hotel. I am sorry that the room was not as you had hoped, the good news about a historical hotel is that almost every room is different in size and... More
