Was quite impressed with this hotel in Austin! It's a beautiful, elegant, classical older hotel with the finest touches. Beautiful bar on bottom floor with beautiful dark wood and live music. Breathtaking and would go there again!

I had planned on staying at the Driskill on my wedding night since I was in college and my stay was just average. I checked in at 3:45pm (check in at 3pm) and was told my room was not ready and had to wait an additional 30 mins which almost made me late to my rehearsal dinner. The room was... More

I recently celebrated turning 50 with a one-night stay at the Driskill with my sister. Check-in was easy and efficient, the 5th floor king room was small but functional. The bathroom was really small, almost cramped. I was touched by the delivery of strawberries and champagne from the front desk in honor of my birthday. We chose the Driskill mainly... More

I stayed on the 11th floor and was pointed to a hike of stairs. My immediate thought was, "whoa, better watch the ETOH consumption tonight". Then you wind to a series of elevators. I am sure there are elevators on another wing, my had the stairs. It was fine as I got to get my first glimpse of the architectural... More

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful historic hotel in September for our 11th anniversary. We were upgraded to the Brazo suite which overlooked Brazos Street and faced the Firehouse Hostel. We were welcomed with a bottle of champagne and chocolates as an anniversary gift. This room was beautiful with a huge balcony. We loved hanging around the lounge... More

Being a native of Austin, had walked past the Driskill many times. It was exciting to finally check in as an opportunity presented in the form of a global conference held right here in my own city. It was funny to be so close to home and yet staying in a classic set up on the 6th street. "The proximity... More

Hello Nils_KR, Thank you for your review. We are so glad that you had the opportunity to stay here at The Driskill. It is good to hear that the conference went well and the meeting space “let the thoughts flow freely”. Our apologies for the construction noise during your stay, that part is never fun. We do hope that you... More

If you are looking for a downtown hotel with real Texas personality and history then this is the place for you. It is a historic hotel and has a lot of personality which is great. However, as is the case with many older hotels there are some things like slow elevators, air conditioning being loud and not easy to change,... More

The Dristkill is a stately hotel in an ideal downtown location with history dating back to the late 1880s. It is less than a mile to the famous Congress Street Bridge where the bats fly at night. A little bit further and you have cute shops, restaurants and bars. The other way, a short walk gets you to the State... More

My husband and I just returned from an education conference at the Driskill. We had never stayed there before but let me say that I will never return to Austin and ever stay anywhere else again. That is saying a lot coming from us. We travel the globe for our jobs. We have stayed at some of the world's finest... More

I stay at the Driskill last week and really enjoyed the hotel. The art work and furnishings were beautiful and harkened back to a time of cattle barons. I loved the LBJ stories and memoriabilia. I could imagine the former President at the bar or in the Cattle Baron Suite. Yes, this is an old hotel, so it was a... More
