The outside of the building is gorgeous. As soon as I parked at the valet, I was greeted by an employee and she quickly took my key and sent me in to check in. EVERY employee greets you and is extremely kind and considerate. The check-in process was fast and I took the elevator to my senate room. It was... More

This is a truly classic hotel, on of the greatest in Tevas life and lore. It has two sections, the old classic with unique rooms and furniture where you want to be if possible. It also has a very nice modern addition which is fine but lacks the charm. There is a great bar in the lobby. Located at the... More

Everything about this gorgeous hotel makes you feel special, from the chamber music in the opulent lobby to the vanilla fragrance of the lobby elevator. The staff are all totally gracious - I think Brandy and Cheryl are amazing front desk staff and Scott and Jared do the legendary hotel bar justice - the are simply the best. The hotel... More

Other than a few issues with the water temperature regulators in the shower and sink that they promise are being repaired, this is one lovely old hotel. The STAFF makes the experience great, though. How cool is this? Our housekeeper, Trina, wrote us a thank you note for the tip, and wished us safe travels home (on her day off).... More

We just stopped in to check it out. They had bloody Mary bar set up that morning. Fantastic! almost enough there to be a meal. I would love to go back and stay there. The vaulted ceilings, stained glass, and antique furnishings make this place a palace.

I'm writing this review as I sit in junior suite 448, the worst room in the hotel. Both grand windows face a tall brick wall so close that I could reach out and touch it. This blocks any natural light from reaching the room. Even with the shades fully drawn back, I feel like I'm in a dark cave. It's... More

This is one swank hotel they are on top of your every need. Great little café, cool bar, us scale restaurant. I had trouble with a tour that was cancelled and I was not notified, after 2 cab rides, not the hotels problem but when I advised them of the problem they gave us a nice food credit for our... More

My husband and I stayed at The Driskill for my birthday weekend getaway in June. I wish I had written this review sooner and could provide a fresher review. The hotel is on the quieter part of Sixth street. As it is a historic hotel, the room was smaller and decent, but needed some updating. The service was good. We... More

We've stayed here before. That experience was great. This time we decided to stop by and have a cocktail. Yes, it was busy. Yes, we were polite patrons. No, we didn't get great service. Pretty disappointed. Especially since we raved to our friends, how much we loved the place. Doesn't take away from its history or atmosphere. We'll be back.... More

First visit to Austin, family reunion with huge expectations, and the Driskill did not disappoint. Great amenities and downtown location. Staff were courteous and willing to please. One disappointment was the bar. Waitress was slow and no beers on tap. I understand there was an issue with the taps. But we were there 5 days and it never seemed to... More
