we stayed 4 nights in a queen double room. beds and linens were excellent, although I could have used another pillow or two. nice to have 2 sinks and three mirrors and a view. a/c was somewhat noisy but very cool. chad, joseph, jeff, brandi and the front and side door staff were wonderful and attentive to all of our... If you want a hotel right in the heart of the action on 6th Street in Austin, the Driskill is the perfect option. This hotel is really nice. It was originally built back in the 1880's and has all of the charm and history you would expect. The decor and ambiance in this hotel is truly amazing. Everywhere you look... More

Had to get some documents "authenticated" in Austin, so I decided to stay nearby at the Driskill. Checking in was easy and quick, customer service was excellent and efficient. Hotel style was unique and the ambiance was truly a Texas experience. Can't wait to visit Austin again and we will definitely stay there again.

Okay, checked in and was greeted by someone who was super nice. That's good. Front desk staff: Super. Bag was brought up by the greeter (a little creepy). I travel a lot for business so anyone offering service these days seems a little suspect. The room is MAYBE 200-300 square feet - I cannot imagine sharing. Tiny sink, small bed,... More

Enjoyed my stay. Nice and central so easy to get out & about. Great bed, and comfortable room but... Air conditioning in the room (1101) was excessively noisy, not great in high temperatures and trying to sleep through jet lag Brreakfast is good quality, but limited selection , friendly service but soooo slow. Had to wait 15 mins for juice... More

Hello Sico63, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I'm glad you enjoyed the location and the comforts of the room. However, I am so sorry that your AC unit was not working properly, that definitely does not help when you are trying to adjust to a new time zone. We are currently revitalizing our 1886 cafe and next... More

The Driskill might not be for everyone (I loved it) but the standard of service is like no other I have experienced. This is what the service should be like in a top London hotel (but top London hotels often fail) - the staff at the Driskill just go out of their way to help. And I didn't go asking... More

We stayed at The Driskill while attending a conference at the convention center which was within walking distance. Most the staff at The Driskill were exceptional and the only thing that could have been done better during our stay was housekeeping. I had to request washcloths, shampoo and conditioner after housekeeping had cleaned the room. The total bill was over... More

I have previously lived in Austin and I have been to weddings there and the restaurant, but this was my first time to stay at the Driskill. When you book this hotel, you need to keep in mind that it is a Historic hotel, not a Modern hotel. Therefore, the lobby, dining areas, and every public space in between will... More

This is my first Travelocity review. I spent Sunday night, 7/6/14 at The Driskill for my anniversary and while we had an enjoyable stay, my GPS was stolen out of my car during its time with the Valet. We arrived and gave the keys to the attendant around 7:30 that evening and didn’t take it back out until check-out the... More

After dreaming about staying at the Driskill for many years, I decided to stay for two nights. As a Hyatt platinum member, I was not offered an upgrade, which I would have gladly paid for as the room was terribly small--basically only big enough for the bed. I didn't feel like going back down to change rooms, so we stuck... More
