I stayed at the Driskill for three nights for business and have to commend the staff there for just being wonderful. Everyone was so helpful and genuinely wanted to make sure their guests were comfortable. The hotel's historic status is pretty darn cool too. My room had creaking in the floorboard, which I thought was pretty cool and reminded me... More

The Driskill is a 19th century hotel which hasn't lost its charm and grandeur. Amazing architecture combined with a ghostly past makes this hotel a must see. The lobby is spectacular and so is the mezzanine level which has balconies that overlook 6th street. Beware of the spirit of Daisy which roams the hallway in search of a treat

I loved this beautiful and historic hotel. The lobby is absolutely gorgeous and the bar and sitting area has so much charm and character. It was fun to spend some time walking the hallways - especially the haunted 5th floor! All the walls are covered in cool, old paintings. The rooms themselves have that vintage feel, but are still very... More

Pros: good bar scene, nice location, front desk people were excellent. Cons: small rooms, dated, the party was thrown there and was not managed well by the hotel. In short we will likely look for a new venue for next years bash and there are better options to stay in Austin. However I would still hit the bar scene there.

The Driskill Hotel has a beautiful lobby with old charm. There's a large bar area on the second floor that was really nice with a piano, large comfortable chairs, and gorgeous woodwork. To get to our room on the 4th floor,we could only take one elevator which was really slow. Rooms were fine and clean but a little small. Location... More

We were very excited to spend our wedding night at The Driskill. It is a truly beautiful property in the heart of Austin. Overall, it was a good stay. However, there were several customer service issues that need to be improved upon. The good: - We were upgraded to a Senate Suite and were greeted with champagne and chocolate covered... More

The Driskill very well may be one of the most beautiful hotels in which I've ever stayed. The lobby was magnificent with a stately grace that was magnified by the elegant live Christmas tree and lighted garland decorating the stairway railings. Check in was a delight with the attention given me by Ada Cairo- as charming as she was beautiful.... More

Wow! What an amazing place. An architectural landmark, filled with nostalgia, Tiffany glass, gorgeous furnishings and a great history that would only get better if the walls could talk. The bar is great with lots of energy, nice service and delicious cocktails. If in Austin and wanting to immerse yourself in nostalgic gorgeousness, look no more!

Hello Romazzino, It's great to hear you were able to enjoy what The Driskill has to offer. I have served in this industry for a long time and I cannot remember working at a hotel that is as photographed as much as this one. It's so much fun reading how guests, such as yourself, enjoy the experience. I can't wait... More

My husband and I were on a five night visit to Austin from England. We really enjoyed all aspects of the holiday, the hotel, the city, the music and the exceptionally friendly people that we seemed to meet everywhere. We are frequent visitors to the states but I think this was our best experience. I chose the hotel based on... More

The good: The lobby area of the Driskill is beautiful. There are actually three entrances from the North, South, and the East. The lobby runs the full length from the south (6th street) passing the 1886 Cafe and main entrance from the East off Brazos street. There is also an entrance from the North from 7th Street into the bar... More
