Old world Southern hospitality greets you upon arrival at this Austin charmer. See Joel, the concierge to arrange all your plans in the city. His service is outstanding . Rooms are small but service is outstanding . The bar at the Driskill is the hippest in town. A real tip. For outstanding limo service to and from the airport as... More

We walked into the Driskill last year to gawk at the lobby... it's worth it. And decided that our next time in Austin, we'd stay at the Driskill. Started a little shaky... the airline had lost our bags. And the service was immediately what you'd expect in a grand hotel. Reception was very kind, offering the travel items that were... More

Stayed at the Driskill because a colleague recommended it. Its location, at the top of the music district, is a big plus. I had a meeting at the state house which was a quick walk up Congress street. The front desk staff and the valet guys were great. The lobby is gorgeous and appears to attract tourists. The only thing... More

This is a beautiful hotel, and it is very comfortable. Service was excellent; the staff really goes above & beyond. However, it is pricey. Valet parking is the only parking we were offered and that is $38 per night! Location is centrally located to many entertainment & food options in downtown Austin.

The design and 'character' of the Driskill is everything you expect from this grand hotel of Austin. There is a ton of history here, and you can feel it if you try. My only two issues were this: The floor in my room was damp in one area. I didn't bring this to staff attention, but if I had I'm... More

LBJ Took Lady Bird here for their first date, breakfast. He awaited election returns for his senate and VP races. The place, mercifully, dodged the wrecking ball years back and has been passed around among owners more than normal, but is now firmly in the clutches of Hyatt.

Stayed for five nights for a conference (had to split between two rooms, in both old and new buildings) and am surprised at how this hotel snob fell in love with the Driskill. It's a Hyatt but doesn't feel like a chain - it's an 1886 gem built by a cattle Baron who are his fortune off the Civil War,... More

We stayed during our honeymoon trip around Texas. The customer service was fantastic, especially the concierge. We splashed out on this hotel and absolutely loved our stay there. The beds are very comfortable. The live music in the bar is great. It's more expensive than most but worth every penny, and if it's good enough for US Presidents then it's... More

I stayed at The Driskill while attending a business conference located across Town Lake. The Driskill is a first-class hotel, nice rooms, and great service. Use the valet for parking if you have a car. The hotel is perfectly located in downtown. Last time was perfect... and this time, I got what I expected. It was spring, so we left... More

Everything was great from the minute I drove up until I left. Staff exceptional, dining was good. The room was very small but it was decorated very well and I was very comfy. There wasn't room for a desk in the room so working was a bit of a challenge but overall I'd go back!
