This hotel is truly exceptional. The design, rooms and ammeneties are top notch. The service is truly exceptional as well. Each day they have a happy hour in the hotel lobby. This was a really nice touch and it was great to mingle with some of the other guests. Paulina, Conner and Chris were extremely hospitable and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. Also, I would highly recommend their hotels resteraunt - Geraldines. It was truly exquisite and the menu was exceptional.

Our recent stay could not have been more enjoyable. Our last time at HVZ was soon after opening and I'm happy to say that the hotel was as good (or better) than I remembered. Victoria handled our check-in very efficiently and the welcome beverage was much appreciated. High marks to our bellman, Johnny. He offered recommendations about the Rainey Street area and he retrieved a bag we had left in our car. The hotel has the hospitality aspect covered. Our king room was comfortably designed and we slept very soundly. I would enthusiastically recommend Hotel Van Zandt!

The hotel, overall, was decent. It was in a good location with easy access to the river trail and plenty of food nearby. The hotel design was also unique and the cafe downstairs actually had some good food, though I did not try the restaurant. Lastly, the room was clean and although there is construction close by, I could not hear any of it.

Stayed here weekend US Grand Prix and could not have been more pleased. Great people, service, location and rooms with amazing view of city skyline. What most impressed my wife and I was the restaurant and bars in the hotel - you never had to leave if you didn't want to!

One side of the hotel is loud, music plays until midnight. The hotel moved me to the other side of the building and it was quiet. The hotel provides war plugs and a white noise machine, but I could. Not get the white noise machine to work. The connecting room door is thin and sounds carried from the other room.

My new favorite hotel in Austin! We have strayed in all the luxury hotels in Austin and two things set the Van Zandt apart. The ambience and vibe are fantastic. The most important though is the staff. Michelle checked us in . She was so welcoming, pleasant and helpful. Much more than the stiff, formal and quite frankly impersonal reception that usually takes place at other properties. Everyone else is just as friendly and warm. I’m coming back to stay, have a dinner party in an igloo and listen to music at Geraldine’s. Thank you Michelle for the warm hospitality.

The hotel is beautiful and amenities are great. Definitely get the bang for you buck. Location is great even with construction happening. Construction is only during the day though so it doesn't affect your sleep. It's right off of Rainey so there is a lot to do. Room was beautiful. I had a suite with plenty of space. The hallways look a little dated but didn't bother me. Valet didn't greet upon arrival. I know it's the colder season so that's probably why the stand is inside the hotel but when I pulled up nobody came out to greet me which felt confusing. It wasn't until I turned off my car, got out, and started going to my trunk that someone came out. Checking in overall was weird because the front desk also didn't seem to care about my existence. I had to walk all the way up to the desk, stand there for a minute awkwardly, and then finally said "checking in" to the ladies at the desk for one to finally acknowledge me. She was very transactional and didn't give me her name. She explained the basics such as what my package included, the room type, and where the outlets were. I had to ask how much incidentals were. She ended by offering a complimentary beverage which is an awesome perk but didn't offer further assistance and I had a few more questions but opted to just call from the room to ask my questions. The phone operator answered all my questions and was very helpful. The bellman Johnny was awesome. He helped with my luggage at arrival and departure as well as remembered me too. He was the only one that asked why I was in and when he realized it was my birthday he acknowledged it. Housekeeping was also amazing. Check out was a better experience. They wouldn't send the bellman up to the room to get the luggage for us to store when I called which sucked because we had a lot of bags and I have a bad back. However, we got it down and Johnny took care of us from there. Didn't have to touch my bags after that. Front desk at check out was much more personable but she didn't introduce herself either so I can't specifically shout her out. Valet was also better with the text system it's really efficient. Checked out the coffee shop which was good. Had dinner at Geraldines which was lackluster. The vibe is great. The grilled octopus and the pie for dessert were great. The server was awkward or uninterested, cocktails were a miss, the menu seemed to have an identity crisis, and it was also family style which is just not my cup of tea. There was also a long wait between plates coming out. Overall I would absolutely return because of the amenities, the room, and location. The service could be better.

This hotel staffs are super nice and patiently and went extra miles to help me. Especially when I had a huge box to fly with my trip. Victor the front desk and Cassé. I am so grateful and I felt so lucky and blessed to have chosen this hotel. I hope my next trip to Austin and I will definitely hope to stay in this hotel again. The location is good (be warned its hard to access the hotel by car as there is a fair bit of construction going on). Rooms are good sized with updated bathroom but the living area is dated/carpet is old. No coffee makers in the room. No chair for the desk (why even have a desk at that point?). Main complaint is a room on the fifth floor (maybe 523?) had toilet issues that leaked into the hallway, stinking up the place. No offer to move any of us in rooms nearby, just ran a fan all day/night to dry up the toilet water in the hall.

In Austin for business. Hotel well situated but a lot of construction nearby. Hotel definitely has “hipster” vibe. Rooms were comfortable, clean. Bar and outside pool area (did not use pool) were nice. This hotel is a good choice but a lot of “similar” hotels in vicinity.
