We had booked the hotel due to proximity to the convention center. We checked in on Jun 14 and were supposed to stay for 4 days. The room was nice at first sight but closer inspection revealed a dirty carpet and less than ideal sleeper sofa. The fridge had a huge dent and one of the phones was not working.... more

Looks nice and is clean but chintzy on the things that matter to a veteran traveller. Other than how upscale it looked and the breakfast it was not on par with a holiday inn. Linens and towles were substandard, thin and rough Even the Toilet paper was cheap, Terrible service. Valet was understaffed and indifferent to the traffic jam they... more

This is located on 4th and San Jacinto. Anyone who knows the downtown area will tell you; this is prime party location for 6th street. The noise was terrible. It's a great location if your purpose is to come to Austin and go to 6th street all weekend. But if you're traveling on business or w/ family, etc. especially on... more

The upside: nice hotel in perfect location, very clean, spacious well designed rooms, nice downstairs lounge area, good breakfast. Staff were very friendly. Downside: their internet was very unreliable. Worked OK sometimes -- other times was so slow as to be nonfunctional. My husband and I both had work to get done during our stay, and the poor connectivity made... more

Using my birthday as an excuse my DH and I "won" the Residence Inn Austin Downtown/Convention Center on Priceline for $95.00. The hotel was easy to find and the underground parking was great. Check in was smooth. The clerk overheard my husband say to me, "I hope we get a room on a high floor", so she was sweet enough... more

I have stayed in this hotel during SXSW for the last 3 years, the services is amazing, the location is great and the rooms are wonderful. The only problem I have ever had was that one night the elevator was not working and they had to take us to the service elevator, but it was fixed by morning. This hotel... more

Stayed at the Residence Inn for six nights and loved it. The service and employees were first rate. My room was very comfortable and clean. Good housekeeping staff. Nice kitchen area in the room. The hotel in general was very clean and well kept. Decent breakfast. One block from 6th St. so close to the night life. Congress street bridge... more

This was my first time in Austin, and after doing tons of research I decided on the Residence Inn. First of all the staff was absolutely amazing, from the bright cheery front desk staff to the amazing bar staff in the restaurant! I was travelling alone and they were more than willing to help me find the best places to... more

Stayed 6 nights in late June 2008 for a conference. Hotel is like new. Our studio room was large and comfortable. The hot breakfast was above average, good selection including healthy items. Great location, one block from convention center, one block from the Hilton (our conference was at Hilton). Bar/restaurant in the adjoining Marriott Courtyard was comfortable and pleasant. Bell... more
