Stayed here for three days with my husband on business. The first two nights we stayed in building 2. They were week nights and we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. The breakfast was next door at the main house every morning. It was very good, well above most hotels. The 3rd night was an unexpected stay and... More

Star of Texas was running a promotion where every room was the same price. I chose Room 14, with a four-poster bed (but unfortunate decor in shades of brown). It's old-fashioned on the surface, but still had modern touches like a ceiling fan and flat-screen TV. The heat certainly worked, to the point I actually needed the fan! Water pressure... More

The occasion was a Thanksgiving football game we attended with friends. We were housed in building two with adjacent rooms, very convenient for our travel. Each room had a king size bed with lots of room to stretch out. Bathroom size larger than expected. Breakfast was very tasty with a different options each day. Fresh cookies always available in the... More

The part of the inn we stayed was a separate building with about 5 or 6 rooms with a dining area. The rooms had old furniture (meant in a good way) and was of decent size. Nice touch was the dish of homemade chocolate chip cookies in the hallway. The breakfast offered was very good. I would recommend it highly.

Very tradional but homely. Good location. About a 40 minute walk to downtown but lots of good eating places nearby. Supermarket 2 mins away. Our room was 24 in the annexe which was large with a comfortable bed. It was a bit noisy on the Saturday night but they did supply earplugs. Checkin was round the back but instructions left... More

We stayed in building two of the bed and breakfast and I was very pleased with the stay. It was easy to check in and the room was small but nice. One thing to note is that the shampoo and conditioner were full sized bottles (rather than small, one per room type) so if you don't like that be sure... More

We recommend this place to everyone staying in Austin. It's so nice and cozy and just plain adorable. My boyfriend lived the balcony even though it was Christmas. The owner and the staff were all very welcoming and hospitable. We can't WAIT to return!

My DH and I stopped here at the start of our cross country trip. Comfortable, safe and clean accommodations. Inn had full size refrigerator with water, soda and juice avail. 24/7. Fresh baked goodies daily. Lovely and substantial breakfast. Used Uber to get around.

I have stayed here 4 times now in the past couple of months while being in Austin to testify at some hearings at the Capitol. The rooms are very very nicely appointed.Every room has it's own bathroom too, which I much prefer. The rooms are always super clean and comfortable. Even if I want to try and sleep in, the... More

I spent two nights at the Star of Texas Inn, a bed & breakfast nestled into a tree-shaded lot at 22nd Street and Rio Grande. For sheer peacefulness, I'd rate it ten stars. The building, first built in the 1880s and lovingly added to over the years, is tastefully decorated. But the lovely decor is nothing compared to the food.... More
