I believe this hotel wanted to be a modern boutique hotel, but it didn't quite make it. Pros: *New-ish *Good sized rooms (even basic room) *Friendly staff *Close to central Austin *Free breakfast / wifi Cons: *Short staffed (front desk often empty, bar staffed by front desk) *Odd furnishings and art (bizarre mish mash of modern, classical, Asian, Texan &... We spent one night here for the first time, and it is clean and comfortable, even if it does have funky decor. Conveniently located to downtown and the airport, and one of the best breakfasts i've ever had a a comparable property....even real plates and silverware, and real eggs! Wow. Room was quiet and comfortable, and reminded us of some... More

This hotel is unique. Along a strip of chain hotels this hotel is privately owned. It certainly does not have a chain feel. The lobby is decorated with beautiful Chinese art and artifacts. The front desk employees are all nice and helpful. I question another reviewer who was quite critical that this hotel was labeled boutique. No it can not... More

Always helpful. Clean rooms. Decent breakfast. Staff is always making sure you are ok. They'll call you a cab if you need one and the location is pretty good. You won't have to deal with noise and partying heard on the other side of the highway.

The audience for this review is a traveller with experience and a preference for staying in Boutique hotels. I had high hopes after reading the stellar reviews and figured the few negative reviews were from people with unrealistically high expectations BUT I travel frequently for work and this is not worth it if you're looking for a Boutique hotel. I... More

Don't let the outside fool you. COMFY BEDS!!!! Really hard to get up I slept so well. I almost walked out with a pillow or two. Bed and bath amenities. Shower is CRAZY with a 6ft soak tub! Breakfast is ok but definitely NOT a deal-breaker!!!!

This place looks a bit sketchy but the rooms are huge, the bathroom is a blast (see other reviews) and the personnel are great. Breakfast is real china, a nice change from the chains and decent enough food. You can't beat the price for the size and service.

I stayed at this hotel in early January with my girlfriend as the location was fairly close to the airport but the hotel appeared to have more amenities and a reasonable price than ones located closer. The room was very nice and modern. The bed was huge and comfortable and the room as a whole was very clean, linens, comforters,... More

This boutique type hotel is South of downtown Austin and 10 minutes north of the airport just off Highway 35 very close to the trendy South Austin / Congress Street/ Lamar area. The theme is oriental. The rooms are spacious with a mini-fridge and coffee maker, but there is no in-room safe and no alarm clock/radio and only a single sink... More

My wife, stepdaughter and I stayed at the Casulo 12/31/2013. We had no problems. The staff was courteous and efficient checking us in and out. New Years Eve they had a bar open that we had a drink at before heading to downtown to eat dinner and go see a concert at The Paramount. Our room was clean and the... More
