If you can afford to pay a little more and like to stay in unique boutique hotels, you should try Hotel San Jose along South Congress in Austin. The landscaping, pool, lounge, service and hospitality and location amongst the happening hot spot in Austin top the list of great things about this hotel.

The Hotel San Jose is a beautifully converted motel with simply and stylishly designed rooms with fine finishes right on South Congress. The rooms are perfectly nice, but the public spaces at the hotel are the real star of the show. The pool is very small, but the surrounding patio and seating areas (which become a bar/lounge until midnight each... More

My hubby and I have stayed several times at this casual, fun, and close-to-everything hotel. It's small, hip, 'green', and overall communicates the vibe of South Congress area very well. Similar to an Ace hotel, it's pretty minimal, hipster heaven, but at the same time unpretentious. BOOK EARLY, it's small hotel and rooms fill up fast. If you have even... More

In the South Congress (SoCo) area of Austin, across the street from delicious Home Slice Pizza and the venerable Continental Club, around the corner from glorious food trucks, and down the street from vintage clothing and candy, lies the 50's style motor lodge that has been converted into a fun, yet surprisingly peaceful hotel. It is small, but sufficiently appointed,... More

We have stayed at the San Jose twice because we love the location and the hotel is beautiful with rustic modern charm. The service is also great and in fact, we found the bartenders to be exceptional. Our last stay was in the courtyard suite for which we paid a premium. The room was large but for the money, not... Dear Mrs. Nevill, I am very sorry to hear that your stay last week was disappointing. I completely agree that wi-fi is a crucial part of a good experience at any hotel, but certainly an expectation at the San Jose. We acknowledge this to be an issue and are working to resolve the weak signal in the area you stayed... More

This is maybe my fifth time (?) staying at this hotel and I had best experience yet. The hotel is always clean, beds are comfy, and staff is always friendly. I really appreciated that this time they went out of their way to make us feel welcome, knowing we were returning. (I mentioned to the manager that my fiancee and... More

Our family booked this hotel for a wedding in Austin. Upon arriving that Friday at 3 pm. none of our rooms were ready. We had a rearsal at 5pm. The next morning at 7:30 a film crew arrived and setupu right outside our 4 rooms. The noise was incredible and it woke all of us up on that side of... More

Good Afternoon Margaret, I appreciate the feedback about your stay and I apologize that you left having had a negative experience. I would be happy to speak to you further about your stay and ways in which we can improve our level of service. The photo shoot was not approved by the hotel and once we were made aware, I... More

We were touted on this hotel because of its location in one of the happening parts of town. That it was. However, in trying to be cute and avant-garde, the hotel failed. The room was sparse. The floor was concrete, the bed was mediocre, there were no drawers in the room, the bathroom was less than nice. I expected a... More

My husband and I recently stayed at the San Jose hotel during the Honky Tonk festival. We stayed in a suite and found the accommodation to be spacious, the staff friendly and the location right in the heart of things. The hotel is in a street filled with restaurants and shopping, and there was a vibrant atmosphere to the area... More

Met up with some friends in Austin in March and one friend who is local, recommended the Hotel San Jose for us to stay. Great recommendation! We reserved a larger room and it was perfect for two. I asked for a sleeper sofa and it was totally set up when I checked in. Our room was comfortable and very well... More
