I just stayed in cottage 10 at Hotel San Jose for business. Thoughtfully designed and I wish I could have stayed more than one night. The hotel staff let me know that cottage 10 was a bit noisier than other rooms because of S Congress but it didn't bother me. I appreciate that hotel staff were upfront and honest about... More

Love this hotel! It's got such charm. I love how it's very simple yet it's obvious that every single detail - from the furnishings, to the decor, to the gifts in the gift shop, to thestaff - feel very purposeful and thought out. They say love is in the details. There is a lot of love at San Jose. I... More

My stay: Weekend getaway in May 2015, traveled as a couple, first time in Austin! Location: Great location, right in the centre of the action on South Congress Room: Bright and minimalist, eco design. It had a weird smell because of all the floods/rain in Austin. Comfortable but not luxurious Hotel Amenities: We didn't use the pool because it didn't... More

I am not sure why and can't put my finger on it but I find this hotel incredibly relaxing. When you look at the pictures it looks the opposite, low beds concrete floors, but theres something about the location and the vibe that just makes this place incredibly peaceful. If your not looking for a traditional hotel then give this... More

My spouse and I have stayed here twice - once on our wedding night and once for our 7th anniversary. It may seem on the expensive side, but once you've seen the place and stayed there you'll realize it s well worth every penny. This place is simply and beautifully appointed and the staff could not be more hospitable. We... More

I had previously frequented the Four Seasons in Austin but a friend recommended the San Jose. I love it and the hotel is my top choice whenever I visit Austin. The staff is always caring & attentive, the rooms are "minimal" but nice and I love the small size of the hotel. Plus, the breakfast burritos at Jo's (across parking... More

This is probably the coolest hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff was incredibly accommodating. Originally, they booked a room for us near the bar, but it was a little noisy for our tastes. They were totally happy to move us to a quieter room. I recommend staying in the back corner of the property--we basically had a private... More

If you can afford to pay a little more and like to stay in unique boutique hotels, you should try Hotel San Jose along South Congress in Austin. The landscaping, pool, lounge, service and hospitality and location amongst the happening hot spot in Austin top the list of great things about this hotel.

The Hotel San Jose is a beautifully converted motel with simply and stylishly designed rooms with fine finishes right on South Congress. The rooms are perfectly nice, but the public spaces at the hotel are the real star of the show. The pool is very small, but the surrounding patio and seating areas (which become a bar/lounge until midnight each... More

My hubby and I have stayed several times at this casual, fun, and close-to-everything hotel. It's small, hip, 'green', and overall communicates the vibe of South Congress area very well. Similar to an Ace hotel, it's pretty minimal, hipster heaven, but at the same time unpretentious. BOOK EARLY, it's small hotel and rooms fill up fast. If you have even... More
