This hotel is really not so very close to the University of Texas, unless you have a car. It's about 3/4 of a mile hike to the nearest bus stop and then a 10-15 minute ride to UT. Moreover, the neighborhood is a bit sketchy as there is a Greyhound Bus station nearby. I encountered panhandlers and found crack vials... More

Dear Khunjames, Thank you for your review on our hotel and surrounding areas. I do apologize that the hotel is not located closer to the UT campus than what you initially thought. The neighborhood that the hotel is located in is receiving extensive attention for the City of Austin and is being developed as we speak. A great example of... More

I am a platinum Marriott member with over 100 hotel nights every year over the past several years. I had this hotel for one night prior to my visit to UT Austin for business. (a) While booking no one mentioned the hotel was under heavy renovation (b) Upon arrival after a long drive the receptionist lady was totally surprised at... More

Last week our granddaughter was taken seriously ill and I booked a residence inn, for a week, in Austin, Tx. We specifically requested the residence inn nearest the Dell Children's Hospital. Following the directions supplied with our reservation we found ourselves at a courtyard. Very confused upon arrival to find the courtyard hotel instead of the residence. Supplying our reservation... Dear Mike R, First and foremost, I hope that your granddaughter is doing better and that her recovery is successful. I am terribly sorry about the confusion regarding the hotels and that you were not able to stay as close to the Dell Children's Hospital as you would have liked to. We will take a look at the bathtub and... More

As others have mentioned, it's under renovation. I stayed on two consecutive nights, although via separate reservations as I wasn't sure if I'd need both nights. The furnishings in the renovated rooms are nice, but as some have mentioned, the bathtubs and toilets in particular don't appear to have been part of the renovations. Evening front desk staff was very... More

Under construction, but a nice Courtyard non-the-less! Convenient location to the University of Texas as well as many restaurants that are very close in proximity. They are updating the lobby area to the new Courtyard lobbies that are very modern and accomodating!

Dear 720MarkW720, Thank you for staying with us and for such a nice review. You are correct, we are less than 3 miles north of the University of Texas and less than 6 Miles from the famous 6th street which has many well-known restaurant and bars. Hotel was undergoing renovation. Hammering, jack hammer, drills, noise, noise, noise. I stayed in a newly renovated room which was nice. Bathroom not so much. Seems they renovated the room but kept some of the old bathroom. Tub was old tub for sure. I wouldn't stay in the hotel again during renovation. Possible to go back after all is over.... More

Being Platinum Elite with Marriott, we obviously prefer the Marriott brand and are loyal. This Courtyard should not be open or advertised as a Courtyard during the renovations. The front desk staff is very accommodating and kind but the list of problems is extensive. We DID have one of the newly renovated rooms and had no hot water for a... More

I travel all the time and this is by far the worst Courtyard I have ever stayed in. They are undergoing renovations but this hotel should be closed down during these renovations. The person at the registration desk (ok, really just a desk with computer in a ball room) didn't even have on a Marriott shirt. Arriving at 10pm as... More

I am a platinum member and have stayed many nights in various Marriott properties. I pulled up and there were only 4 cars in the parking lot. First sign of something wrong. Over 50 family and friends converged on the Courtyard Marriott University for a family wedding last week. Imagine our surprise to find the building under major renovation.
