We booked this hotel using priceline. and got a great deal. The hotel has been recently updated. The rooms are large enough and furniture/carpeting/paint are new. Bathroom is fine. The staff in the hotel are friendly. The only problems were that the water tastes funny in the hotel (we did not notice this in other parts of town), the air... more

My son and I needed a hotel near the University of Texas, for a campus visit. We could not have picked a closer hotel - the UT Visitor Center is literally 2 minutes away, just across I-35. We could see it from our hotel room. This hotel has recently been remodeled and you can tell. Very nice accomodations for the... more

I booked this hotel for a four night stay to explore the city of Austin. I was attracted by the proximity to the University of Texas, the Texas State History Museum, the Texas State Capitol, and the ability to park for free and walk downtown. The lower-than-average rate I was able to find and the reviews stating that this hotel... more

I stayed here while visiting the University of Texas and came away impressed. The hotel is a convenient drive or walk to the Erwin Center, football stadium and points on the northeast side of campus. Walkers should use extra caution since you must cross a highway overpass to get to campus. As the hotel is close to the highway, it... more

Our girls get-away was wonderful and the Doubletree made our visit to Austin even better. The SXSW festival activities were not part of our plan but being close to 6th Street made it all the more fun. Front desk helped us book cabs and never turned down our request for another "welcome" cookie. Breakfast buffett was good and worth $9.99.... more

This hotel was in the process of a renovation during my visit. It seems that they are almost done because the work is being done on the 2nd floor. I was able to get one of the newly remodeled rooms and it was pretty nice. The room was average size with a nice desk for plenty of work space. The... more

The property is convenient to downtown, UT, 6th street, and the Capitol. However, the location directly between I-35 and a cemetery leaves a bit to be desired. Our room was the last on the fifth floor, room 502. We faced the freeway and could hear traffic. A winter storm one night also left us listening to howling winds. The heater... more

All I can say is WOW what a difference. This hotel is now top notch. I stayed here about 18 months ago and swore I would never go back. Well, given I needed a quick overnight near downtown, I decided to go ahead and stay given they remodeled. So many times a remodel is a coat of new paint and... more

I had a really great stay. I was in town for an Advanced Placement seminar and had to be close to the UT campus. The Doubletree was extremely close, and it only took 5-8 minutes to get to the campus parking garage in morning traffic. The check-in staff was great. I had a problem at first about getting my room... more
